I love Coney Island but living near walmart on council and expressway makes for quite the drive. I have tried tim's drive in on 50th/ macarthur but they just reheat frozen chili....

any ideas for a fast food style hot dog that is similar to coney island if anyone knows I thank you in advance ;)

Have you tried them lately? Their "All American" dog is the best I've encountered since A&W stopped serving theirs more than 30 years ago...

I agree that they weren't very good as recently as six months ago, but this new bunch of 1/4-pound dogs seem to be quite a different type that what they made in the past...

No I have not tried it but if they use the chili they use on the foot long coney it is gross....

No chili at all on the All American; it's sweet relish, onion, and mustard. Unfortunately the chili and cheese one is the same as their previous recipe, but the dog itself is much better -- all beef.

They have four to six different kinds. They have a varied selection if you can pass on adding chili.

I think it's up to 6 kinds now, but I can't quite see tomato, or onion rings, on a hot dog...

I like the ones at Johnny's, though it's in a different form factor than the traditional one (sliced and put on a burger bun). Try the #13.

Surprisingly, OKC doesn't have many hot dog joints

Mutt's has the best hot dog in the City IMHO.

Ron's Chili at 47th & May has dogs on their menu and great chili:

Coit's at 50th & Portland has great chili dogs and although it's not close by, Coney Island in Capitol Hill is great as well.

Bunny's Onion Burgers at 50th & Meridian has chili coneys too.

Sam's. Best dogs in town for a $1.41 including tax. Condiments are not in little packages.

Mine wouldn't fit... Sorry, read it wrong.

The footlong chili dog at the last remaining Big Ed's (122nd & N. Penn). Don't care for Sonics footlongs but the regular sized hot dogs are quite tasty (the last time I got the footlong they were two regular dogs put on the footlong bun). And while I agree that tomatoes on a hot dog sounded odd, the Baja Dog with peppers & tomatoes was quite tasty. The new bacon-n-blue dog looks interesting (but I would change out the blue cheese for ranch)

You need to get out more. Value does not equal quality.

I had a New York dog from Sonic today and it was either really good or I was just really hungry.

Nothing wrong with Sam's hot dogs. The best? Likely not, but for a plain hot dog, it's surprisingly good. The buns are very soft (steamed I think?) and the franks are Nathan's. Those two qualities alone put it ahead of some places that I've tried.
