Who here often alert other drivers of hidden police waiting to write out tickets?
I sometime alert other drivers, but this kind of alert is best during nighttime.
Does anyone have any stories of police unlawfully writing tickets for simply alerting other drivers?
Achilleslastand 10-20-2011, 03:53 PM I have and usually in nichols hills to warn drivers of the nhpd usually camping in someones driveway awaiting future revenue.
Midtowner 10-20-2011, 04:07 PM I throw beer cans at oncoming traffic to inform them of an upcoming speed trap. This is universal code, yes?
SkyWestOKC 10-20-2011, 04:26 PM Depends on my mood. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
HewenttoJared 10-20-2011, 04:46 PM I think people should drive the speed limit. Insanity, I know.

Seems normal. :-)

We think alike, then. When I see a speeder who gets stopped, I say "YES" and drive right by smiling.

I usually just flip the cop. They never see me flip them. Sometime I would roll down the window and stare at the cop and shake my head.

Your disdain for policemen has always been clear. I just hope you never really help from any of them.
I tend more towards clapping my hands and nodding my head up and down when I see them doing their duty by stopping speeders.

You know ljbab728, clapping and nodding your head while driving is just as bad as texting and driving, you're not able to focus on the road if you're distracted by the enthusiasm of seeing a cop pullover someone. Lol
I'm just playing with you so don't get mad at me. ;-)

That's OK... they do the same thing when they see you too.

Oh no, I agree with HewenttoJared. LOL
This is pure insanity. Lol
kevinpate 10-21-2011, 09:00 PM I think people should drive the speed limit. ...
As do I. It helps further shorten the time needed to blow right past them.
Actually what's the craziest is that 4 different people on here agree. :omg:
corpsman 10-21-2011, 09:29 PM I've been known to do it, but too few people these days recognize the rapid flashing of headlights X number of times as the distance in miles to the cop. They usually just seem PO'd and try to blind me with their high beams. 20-25 yr ago an old boy I used to work with did this out in Mustang and dang near got himself arrested for interfering with an officer. Mustang cops have no sense of humor

MDot, but of course I only do that when I'm a passenger and not driving. LOL
When I'm driving, I just do that in my mind.

Quick, close this thread. LOL
Snowman 10-22-2011, 07:18 AM It seems like their are less speed traps than five to ten years ago. Though I am almost always at least a little over the speed limit (the exception being school zones). I have no sympathy for people complaining about speed traps, you often know and were intentionally over the posted limit, when was the last time you got a speeding ticket when you were actually going the speed limit? Most officers will give you at least five over, many will even let you off up to 10 with a warning. I have been stopped several times for speeding, most of the time just got a warning, if you are not prepared to accept a fine for driving at least close to the posted speed then go slower. I have never even tried to talk my way out, just be respectful if for no other reason arguing will do no good and is more likely get you a ticket. They likely did not want that detail and they never know what kind of person/situation they are walking up to.
Quick, close this thread. LOL
For all of our safety and the health of OKCTalk. Lol
Prunepicker 10-22-2011, 07:14 PM My truck's lights are always on by default. I can't warn anyone. If I'm
driving in the other car and pass a cop I'll flash my lights. It doesn't
work as well at night. They think you're telling them to turn on their
lights.
NikkiG78 10-22-2011, 07:45 PM I only speed during the day, I can see them in front of or behind me then, I can't see them at night. LOL

You must be driving a Chevy. Just tap lock ur brake to turn off the light.

A Chevy Suburban. The emergency brake will turn them off. It's
hard to do the antics required to flash them a few times. LOL

So now it's known. PP supports people who break the law by speeding.
