If you are still needing to book holiday travel, do it before the end of Thursday. Nearly every airline is dumping capacity as rates cheaper than I've seen in years.

Travel must be between Nov 30 and Dec 12 and also Jan 4th to Feb 2nd. Fares start out as low as $35 one way in most markets. Just found a fare into a smaller airport that normally costs $600-700 to fly in to for less than half that amount.

There were some very reasonable fares but using them for the holidays was very unlikely. Here is an example of the travel date restrictions:

BLACKOUT DATES
TRAVEL IS NOT PERMITTED ON 19NOV11 OR ON 22NOV11 OR
26NOV11 THROUGH 28NOV11 OR ON 17DEC11 OR 22DEC11
THROUGH 23DEC11 OR 26DEC11 THROUGH 30DEC11 OR 02JAN12
THROUGH 03JAN12 OR ON 07JAN12 OR ON 17FEB12 OR ON
20FEB12 OR ON 08JUL12 OR ON 21NOV12 OR 24NOV12 THROUGH
26NOV12 OR ON 21DEC12 OR ON 26DEC12 OR ON 30DEC12.

What's funny is that they are giving blackout date for late next year and you can only make airline reservations 11 months in advance anyway so even if there weren't blackout dates you can't book for that time period.

Eh, not everyone gets to travel right on the holidays...but more so the holiday season is what I was getting at. Hence why I put the restricted travel times in the first post. :)
