I've been there a few times. Be very careful with what you order there. I would not recommend the delmonico steak or the twice baked potato. Get a grilled or blackened steak that is topped with butter; a baked potato or mashed potatoes; and the asparagus and carrot medley. Those are good choices. Also, if you're going on a Friday, I would recommend calling to make a reservation in advance. They book up on weekends as they are very popular with the locals. Hope that helps.

The delmonico steak is cooked with a demi-glace and the demi-glace twice cooks the beef to make it rubbery/plasticy in texture. The twice baked potatoes, which they consider a "signature" item, is poorly done, and store bought Ore Ida twice baked potatoes are better, which says a lot. On their menu, they do suggest sides, but you can substitute sides for any of their menu items. They have also been offering on Saturdays a special of a Blackened Ribeye w/ bleu cheese butter. Sounds good to me, without the butter (I do not like bleu cheese on any steak any where). Again, if you wish to go, please call them early this week, and make a reservation. They have already announced on their Facebook page that Friday night is booked, except for their private dining room.

it was pretty good. against advice, i ordered the delmonico but subbed the twice baked potato for mashed potatoes. i can't say that it was the best steak i've ever ordered, but i'd imagine that it was the best steak i could get in guthrie. gage's delmonico is a ribeye with a wine reduction, covered with fried shoestring onions. the onions just got in the way in my opinion but the wine reduction was pretty tasty. unlike what others experienced, mine wasn't rubbery at all. the mashed potatoes were seasoned right. one of our party ordered the twice baked potato and i'm pretty glad i took the advice there as it didn't look too appetizing. the comment that it was pretty much a frozen ore-ida product was pretty spot on. service was good. atmosphere nice. i wouldn't travel to guthrie just to go to this place but i'd go again if i was already there looking for a place to eat dinner. -M
