My son is turning one in a few months and i was interested in having a bday party for him. With relatives/friends i think there should be like 20 kids and 50 or so adults. Initially i thought Chuck e cheese, but anyone have another suggestion? Good food/games for kids would be great! Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

One thing we did for my kids was to bake a separate, small, cake for them -- JUST for them -- and encourage them to literally dive into it with both hands. They loved it, and it made for some great family snapshots...

Your child won't understand or care, so do whatever you think your guests will like. Chocolate cake makes funnier pictures, by the way.

Birthday party for a one year old is quite simple. A cake, a candle, a match, and whatever mom wants present to take pictures of to show off at a later date.
Not being mean. We did lots of friends and kiddos ourselves. But, the reality is, no one year old is going to remember or actually appreciate the effort. Most of the time, the first birthday party is for the mom.
That's not bad. It just is. Sort of how there are those weddings that are for the bride's momma to plan and shine and bask, with the bride as the lovely and popular supporting actress. Then that bride can have her wedding to star in once she has a grown daughter of her own.
So back to 1st year party. Whatever momma or poppa want for their memories, which of course they will pretend are all only done for their lil' bundle of walking or soon to walk joy ... just as they should.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I should have been more clear---what i'm looking for is a recommendation for a restaurant/place like chuck-e-cheese to have a party at for those number of people. Just curious what other options are out there.

If it's more for the older kid guests you might also look at renting a party room at Andy Alligator's in Moore...Your one year old won't get much out of it but it is a pretty cool place for kids

For that many people, need to arrange in advance for sure. Possibly Celebration Station (I-40, never been so don't know capacity), Gattitown (NW Expressway) could definitely handle it. i like the idea of a separate small cake for the birthday boy. Also need to check to make sure you can bring in your own cake or decorations, or if you are required to buy from them. Kids will be kids and that way they can go at it.
