The historic pottery maker closed in March 2010, and a bank is forcing a liquidation auction. "The bank said we should sell everything," said Kay Hawks of Robert Hawks Auction Co. in Oklahoma City, the company conducting the sale. However, Frankoma's molds will be sold at a later date. The 78-year-old company was once widely known for its line of pottery, made from Sapulpa clay. But Frankoma has struggled for years and was purchased in 2008 by manufacturing veteran Joe Ragosta. At the time, Frankoma employed about 30 people.
