USG'60 09-01-2011, 05:59 PM It wasn't even mentioned on the national news awhile ago. Not much of an emergency. FritterGirl 09-01-2011, 06:28 PM I have friends in the LA area who basically said "Quake? What quake? We didn't feel a thing." SoonerBeerMan 09-01-2011, 09:15 PM RadicalModerate, earthquakes are not funny. There could be injuries out there. I feel sorry for your "ex-mom" Thunder 09-02-2011, 02:43 AM Well, a troll announced it on the LW yesterday, but I still can't find the news on CNN or Fox News. Probably was never a quake. SoonerBeerMan 09-02-2011, 08:01 AM Well, a troll announced it on the LW yesterday, but I still can't find the news on CNN or Fox News. Probably was never a quake. Regardless dude, it is near impossible to have injuries associated with a 4.3 earthquake. Just stop being so dramatic with every little thing out there. venture 09-02-2011, 02:29 PM Well, a troll announced it on the LW yesterday, but I still can't find the news on CNN or Fox News. Probably was never a quake. USGS.gov...best place to go to look at recent quake activity. No it wasn't a troll. It did occur, but it isn't news. Image below shows the 4.2 and also 301 other earthquakes there. It is a complete non-issue there. I would also encourage you to review the Wiki page on the Richter scale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richter_magnitude_scale It shows the expected impacts based on the Richter number. 4.2 would have be: Noticeable shaking of indoor items, rattling noises. Significant damage unlikely. You have to get over 5.0 to really start seeing any serious damage...but that is mainly just to weak buildings. 6.0 and up is when things get serious. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsus/Maps/US10/27.37.-125.-115.gif Thunder 09-23-2011, 11:46 AM Earthquake Emergency Another major earthquake is due sometime during next week. USG'60 09-23-2011, 07:09 PM Did Mexa have a dream? Or what? rcjunkie 09-24-2011, 04:46 PM Did Mexa have a dream? Or what? Ouija Board Bunty 09-24-2011, 07:39 PM Well, you should stay away from a Ouija board, because when the pointer starts moving, you don't if the other person is causing it to move, or not. I speak from experience. jn1780 09-24-2011, 08:49 PM There is some increase in solar activity going on right now and the rest of the week. I guess its possible that this could cause earthquakes. Thunder 11-05-2011, 11:52 PM Severe Earthquake Emergency Its happening and it will only get worse! Faults are becoming more active than anywhere else! Its highly likely this will awaken the New Myraid fault! What will you do?!?!?! ljbab728 11-05-2011, 11:54 PM How did I know that this was coming. sigh!!!!! kevinpate 11-06-2011, 08:26 AM Thunder, I've decided I'm gonna move into your trailer for the time being. You're not using it yet, so I won't be in the way, and since it is earthquake season and not tornado season, I'd rather risk the trailer tipping over than my roof dropping down on my noggin. Hope you don't mind. Thunder 11-06-2011, 09:26 AM Reports of grounds being warmer than usual. This could be hot magma/lava pushing upward! Snowman 11-06-2011, 09:39 AM Reports of grounds being warmer than usual. This could be hot magma/lava pushing upward! If you are talking about around areas where the earthquake happened and are continuing to have aftershocks, then it should be at least slightly warmer than average due to moving creates friction and friction results in heat. kevinpate 11-06-2011, 10:48 AM Reports of grounds being warmer than usual. This could be hot magma/lava pushing upward! It could also be the farts of long dormant creatures from hell. I'm not laying down money on either choice, and suggest you don't either. RadicalModerate 11-06-2011, 04:06 PM Scientists, police and the military have cordoned off the area in the vincinity of somewhere out around Prague, OK. Apparently a fire breathing dinosaur is emerging from a big crack in the ground opened by the recent earthquake. I think this may have a lot to do with the reported increase in ground temperature. Some people are speculating that maybe it is a dragon, mistakenly identified as a dinosaur. Scientists, police and the military are keeping mum about this part of the emergency. venture 11-06-2011, 04:15 PM RM why do you entice, encourage, and feed the monster? lol Where have I heard about this before though...Oh yeah! I always wonder where those people come from.... After reading this thread, I now understand... RadicalModerate 11-07-2011, 09:47 AM Ironically, scientists are now speculating that the recent spate of earthquakes in central Oklahoma is due to the approach of a comet--dubbed Nike-Adidas--that is just barely going to miss Earth! kevinpate 11-07-2011, 11:56 AM Ironically, scientists are now speculating that the recent spate of earthquakes in central Oklahoma is due to the approach of a comet--dubbed Nike-Adidas--that is just barely going to miss Earth! Man, that lock-out is impacting everything MDot 11-07-2011, 12:00 PM Man, that lock-out is impacting everything I know, huh? Even Nike and Adidas are working together to try and destroy the earth. Crazy times. RadicalModerate 11-09-2011, 08:05 AM This just in: Scientists and the military have confirmed that is was a dinosaur rather than a dragon. o7gFlSGXt_k Roadhawg 11-09-2011, 09:35 AM Lol Thunder 12-25-2011, 08:41 AM Not a 10.0 as predicted, but a quake is still a quake. But "They" are rarely correct. (Just ask anybody . . .) Thunder 01-01-2012, 02:25 AM It is officially the year 2012 and the chain of year-long major disasters have begun.
