SALLISAW — A man's body was found in rural Sequoyah County after his wife showed up in Arizona and told police her husband had been shot, and she was kidnapped and raped by men claiming to be federal marshals.

Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart said the body of Jack Purselley, 39, was found Wednesday morning. He had been shot multiple times.

“We don't think it was a random killing,” Lockhart said.

So . . . In the made-for-television version of this story, is that Sheriff played by a Don Knotts imitator?

I guess that today, in order to impersonate a Federal Marshal, all you have to do is shave your head, put on a lot of dark clothing, and try to impersonate Hank's brother-in-law on "Breaking Bad".

I know . . . I know . . . Hank's brother-in-law is DEA, but--chances are--doing the James Arness thing from "Gunsmoke" jist ain't a-gonna cut it. Especially in Sallisaw. Plus a fake badge is interchangable between agencies.
