Got take-out from here for lunch yesterday. The place is easy to find, not a scary location (despite the rep of the area), super clean and is staffed by a friendly family. Caribbean is not common around here so I'm happy to have this new(ish) option.
The food is set up cafeteria style - they don't have everything on the menu every day but they are happy to tell you about and show you everything they have. Total price was $8 and change for three pieces of chicken, a huge helping of spinach rice and a big chunk of mac and cheese. Everything had great flavor and made me want to go back and try their other dishes.

Glad to see Carican getting a little love. It's one of my favorite hidden gems. So clean, consistent and delicious.

The chicken and (spinach!=) rice looks delicious. (I'm in love with the whole idea of Caribbean food . . . =)
(excuse me . . . i'm drooling all over my keyboard)

It's one of a kind in OKC and a great value. It's not anything mind blowing as far as quality that would make me drive very far to get there but it is good food, hard to find food in OKC in a very clean, easy to get to restaurant at a low price. If anyone is looking for upper end Caribbean/Jamaican food with some really mind blowing flavors, Hibiscus Café in Tulsa is about the only option in all of Oklahoma. Their flavors are much more bold and food quality is much higher. That's not to take away from what Carican Flavors does, I'm just giving a heads up to those who love this type of food that might want to step it up a notch when they're in T town. Below is roughly the same dish without mac and cheese for $5.99 as a weekday lunch special.

Perhaps I don't have the discerning Caribbean palate that you possess, but I'd prefer the meal in the first picture. The meal in the second picture appears to be drowning in juice with chicken (?) that appears to be far less appetizing.

This place is the tops. Beef stew, goat stew, oxtail, and the red snapper are all great.

***bump***
I normally won't bump a thread just for the sake of doing it but this place is great and more people need to try it. I think some people are a little nervous by the Caribbean tag, but this place has the feel of food made by your grandma. Try it you'll like it.
