Picked the wife up from the airport about 12:30 last night. The lighting on the tower was visible from that far out. Looked good. Of course, I was specifically looking to see if it was visible from that far out. Red and white, candy cane affect is perfect for Christmas time.

They have recently added a second row of LED lights to the crown of the building:

Nice. Now that Sandridge is bankrupt, hopefully OG&E will take over that tower and light it up.

It would take SD not being able to emerge from bankruptcy or a decision to move/take on additional tentants after emerging for OG&E to take it over. They filed chapter 11, not chapter 7. So far the majority of energy companies that have filed chapter 11 have reemerged and not had to liquidate. From what I've heard, it looks like that will be the case for them as of right now.

I just think the tower is too big for them. They could/should just move into the new Park building across the street and sell the tower IMO. But of course Im not in the energy business so I don't really know how those things work. lol.

Im just thinking from a holdings/mtc prospective, the parkside building (being smaller footprint/sq footage) would be less costly to own and would likely fit the # of employees they have (and likely may grow back into) vs. the tower which seems to be the correct size for OGE Energy. Yes I know that means OGE wouldn't build a new tower but that could open up the Stage Center lands to someone else to develop.

Im confused from the above comments? Did Sandridge have any offices in Oklahoma Tower? I thought they only had offices in the old Kerr McGee building. I'm not sure how their bankruptcy has anything to do with Oklahoma Tower???

I could have sworn that the second row of LEDs has been there for quite a while, like almost as long as the first row. I looked at the pictures and videos upthread and only saw the one row, but someone commented on 12/14/15 about the second row. Am I crazy?

Bombermwc, Hot Rod is probably like me, and opens lots of threads at once before reading through them. Sometimes we post stuff in the wrong thread. To get this back on track, I just can't wait until the streetcar goes in. It's really going to change how people get around downtown OKC.

No, the 2nd row of new LED lights were just turned on this week. I have an unobstructed view from my place and instantly noticed the change.

Way back when, there were two rows of white lights but those had not been functional for a while, and about 6 months ago they added the lower strip of LED lights; this week they added the upper strip.

Looks nice, the Myriad is too, if only the Devon Tower could complete the set. Not sure about the Scissor tail over I-40

^^ Thanks for clarifying. I walked home from the game and couldn't see from where I was. Nice tribute, I know Philadelphia also had many of their buildings lit up as well.
