I will update with a few things happening at Park Harvey.

There will now be a grocery service from Whole Foods for five dollars. Starts in July. Weekly or Bi Weekly not sure.

There is now one resident party per month. They have beer, wine, prizes and a drawing for $100 dollars off rent.

If rent is turned in the day before due you have a chance to win next month's rent free. Been doing this for about four months.

Bizze Boxes are installed inside now. Drop off dry cleaning done online by American Cleaners.

Installed new front doors that are automatic and sliding.

Installed all new windows on the first floor. Includes Planet Sub, Park Harvey Sushi, Park Harvey Athletic Club, law offices and the main office.

Repainted first floor.

You give them a list of stuff you want from Whole Foods and they go get it and deliver it to your door. Five bucks.

I'm getting more info on this.

It's a new service being offered at all the Gardner Tanenbaum properties, including the Montgomery. Will post more soon.

Okay, have the full scoop....

This is a service between Whole Foods and the three urban Gardner Tanenbaum residential properties: the Montgomery, Park Harvey and The Classen. They are just starting it this week, although there has been a pilot at the Montgomery for about a month.

All of these properties have a 24/7 concierge and the WF delivery service is coordinated through them. The residents are provided a list of 50 basic items but can also write in anything else they may need. Lists are due to the property concierge no later than 8PM on Thursday and then they are forwarded to the WF concierge on the other end. On Friday, a delivery van from G/T picks up the orders, delivers them to the properties and then for each resident, the local concierge places perishables in the frig and other items on the kitchen counter.

Individual accounts are set up with WF in advance, so the resident is merely charged (debit/credit) separately. Also, for write-in items they provide the WF brand where available but otherwise select the lowest price in a category.

G/T has a similar delivery/drop-off arrangement with a local dry cleaners.

Slick idea but requires a lot of service at the property and a delivery driver. Credit to G/T for providing great service all the way around.

Do they use Bizzie? I know both Level and Deep Deuce Apartments use them.

The Classen was using Bizzie when I left. Even the Regency has Bizzie now.

Building permit application today for $150K to put in full metal awnings on the south and west exposures; they also will be putting up much nicer signage and will replace the storefronts, if that hasn't already happened.

Not just the awning, the store fronts will be a darker color that matches the building. Right now its just a hodgepodge of colors. This update really looks sharp.

They put a new large desk inside the entrance now for the concierge to stay at. I'll try to get a picture soon.

Yes! Fixed canopies along street frontage would make a huge impact in downtown Okc and adding to the walkability.

From the management on the awnings.

Park Harvey Residents,

As we move forward with the construction of the new awning on our building, I wanted provide an update to inform you on the progress and timeline. From now through the end of the weekend of 11/14 through 11/16/14 our contractors will be working on the Harvey Street side of the building within the pedestrian access.

Beginning Monday, November 17, Project 180 will begin removing the street paving on Harvey. The pedestrian walk will then be directed back in front of the main entry to The Park Harvey for access. Our contractors will be working within the access point (pedestrian access) from the hours of 5:00 PM until approximately 8:30PM each night and on the weekends until the Harvey side of the awning is complete. During the time that the contractors are working we will block that access area to their work space. Please watch for the barricades for access points for your safety.

We will also begin installing barricades on the south side of the building (Park Avenue) on Monday, November 17 to begin construction of the awning on the south side. The pedestrian access will be from the curb to the parking lane on Park Avenue. We anticipate that construction will be approximately 30 days.

Thank you for your patience as we continue improvement on The Park Harvey and thank you for making The Park Harvey your home.
- Your Park Harvey Team.

Moving out soon but I'm glad they are getting all these upgrades done. In just over a year this building has had a huge upgrade. Loved living here.

One of Russell Westbrook's new commercials has it prominently displayed so someone from elsewhere might think it's cool looking. I'm trying to remember what the ad was for but there were some nice OKC shots.

The a Classen Tower and the Gold Dome both make multiple appearances, too. I'm guessing this was the big film shoot I mentioned a while back in the Gold Dome parking lot. Pretty much everything with Russ in it was shot on green screen though, so who knows if he was there.

I will say though that if you believe an Esquire article about his True Religion partnership, he was actually creative director on the spot. If so, I like the locations he picked. It's notable that Park Harvey and The Classen figure so prominently, since they have common ownership. The outdoor basketball court is also at The Classen. By the way, one of KD's best commercials was shot in part on the same court.

These guys, Russell and Kevin - along with the NBA Thunder, are the best thing to ever happen to OKC. They take pride in our city and want to show it off/promote it with their own brands. I truly hope Russell and Kevin make home careers in Oklahoma City and even stay afterward to continue shaping and reigning over the city - hopefully as someone new comes along later to carry the torch. Total class act from both of them, started with Kevin but now Russell (IMO even better brand) is taking OKC to the world by storm.

They are great…they are also not the *best* thing to ever happen to OKC.

I know it's a bit of hyperbole, but let's just settle that they are a dividend of the best thing that ever happened to OKC which is MAPS. A very big dividend, that is at the very least reinvesting for the short term.

HOT ROD

i think MAPS was an investment by the citizens to make the city better. It was a leap of faith and citizens took it. And it has paid off.

As a result, the city landed the OKC Thunder and these two superstars - that's the best thing to happen to the city IMO.

we might be saying the same thing (just I'm not focusing on the past) - wink.

Hopefully, we'll start seeing many more of these building canopies (particularly along all along Park Avenue as well as Broadway, Robinson, and Hudson retail fronts and the new Main St/Sheridan Ave/Hudson buildings. It's nice to be somewhat sheltered while shopping/enjoying downtown without having to use an umbrella and definitely creates the stage for more sidewalk cafes and patios dining. Very downtown big city!

indeed this building has come a long way, what a LOVELY big city canopy.Difficult to tell you are still in Oklahoma City in those pics, and that's a good thing!!

I wish more downtown buildings would do full canopy instead of just awnings on doors/windows as it encourages retail by enhancing the pedestrian experience.

I hosted a friend from Argentina end of last year early part of this year, and she did a bit of exploring by herself downtown and this was one of her favorite buildings. She loved the color scheme. Coming from a fashion designer, it's nice to hear someone who works closely with aesthetics take notice and say good things. This building is definitely a nice thing to have in our skyline!

Not to detract from this thread but in typical City fashion, they are killing Park before it even gets started. The City spent a ton of money on the Park Ave Retail Study which encouraged business owners to relocate retail to the sidewalk but the City turns around at the same time and starts building a P180 park and pedestrian walkway in the alley between Oklahoma Tower, Corporate Tower, and Robinson Renaissance. We can't attract pedestrians to Park Ave if we keep spreading them all over the place (previously vertical in the Conncourse and now horizontally thanks to the new 'park') and without the pedestrians there is no reason for property owners to relocate any retail to the sidewalk. Why is this so darn hard for the City to figure out?

I share the sentiment but don't see how the P180 timeline is relevant to FNC, unfortunately. If Cafe7 were given a dignified sidewalk for instance, I have no idea how they could even operate their business under those conditions. For instance I remember having to walk across to the Broadway side for a bathroom - is that one even functional anymore? Huge shame bc they really made it into a nice corner space.

HOT ROD

I didn't mean to tie FNC and P180 together as I know they are mutually exclusive. What I meant was I hope that BOTH projects can finish (with the quick look at P180) so that Park Avenue can have a chance to get started. I mentioned FNC because it contains the most frontage but there are many other buildings that could get Street Retail going IF/WHEN P180 finishes on Park and associated intersections.

Too bad we couldn't get the rails built into those same intersections now. ... this is why I mentioned in the cc thread that perhaps we should fund rails with Bonds so they would fully align with road improvements.
