Not bad! Our arena ranks really low, but that should improve with the new renovations.

Our arena ranks really low, but that should improve with the new renovations. http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/teamrankings We're #6 in all of major league sports franchises. We're #2 in the NBA. That's an interesting story, Jill. Their criteria: "...in which we measure how much MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL franchises give back to the fans in exchange for all the time, money and emotion the fans invest in them. " That's quite impressive. That's out of 122 franchises, too. ljbab728 06-16-2011, 12:08 AM Another area where our ranking should improve considerably is the first one which is based on wins for the last 3 years. Our first year drags down that rating immensely. HOT ROD 06-16-2011, 06:47 AM I can see ALL of the following increase: BNG-Bang for the Buck * already high, but see it getting higher OWN-Ownership * Im not sure why this was relatively low in the 20's, as the ownership has been great from an OKC prospective. .... STX-Stadium * As others have mentioned, Ford Center updated should move this up considerably. I hope they can build it like was proposed (since the practice facility and arena reno bids/costs have been under budget). This was our LOWEST score, so you know it has to go up once the stadium is complete. TTR-Title Track * Um, this obviously should improve and I totally see some of their NBA teams (like San Antonio) significantly going down. In fact, OKC and SA should be a total flip flop in this regard, and Im not sure why they rated SA that highly in the first place. ... I would say Memphis also should move up considerably in this regard, but OKC I S in their way. .... With those four improvements, wouldn't OKC 'blunder' move into the top 3 on the next list? Somebody break that to the Seattle trolls (both of their teams are in the bottom half). ...... soonerliberal 06-16-2011, 08:02 AM Awesome!!! Even more positive exposure for the team and city. rag451 06-16-2011, 03:30 PM I wonder how many other teams hang banners on the tops of their downtown buildings? Just seeing that in downtown OKC ought to say something about local sentiment for the team. I can't wait for the Thunder to win the NBA Championship! earlywinegareth 06-17-2011, 10:21 AM Very cool...having traveled around the country on business and with friends from coast to coast, I've known for a long time OKC was a great sports town. Interest in sports of all kinds has always been high here, so it's really gratifying to see our first ever major professional franchise do so well and to show off our great fan support. |
