I loved seeing Dirk have that great 4th quarter, seeing the Heat go down and the Mavs from the Western Conference (and just down I-35) win it all!

The "I-35 Rivalry' with the Thunder has commenced with the Mavs kicking it off as NBA champs. Seriously, we'll have some great games. They know who's nipping at their heels.

Dallas -- 105
Miami -- 95

So now we've had the pleasure of being eliminated in the playoffs two years in a row by the champions.

So now hopefully we can make Miami say that next year.

I was thinking that last week. How interesting it would be if it worked out that way. Almost can say if you want an NBA title, you need to go through OKC first.

You can't really say that though. This year, yes, but last year...no, not really. We lost to LA in the first round. They still had two other great teams to beat to then make it to the Finals.

Don't get me wrong, we're well on our way.

Congrats to Dallas.

I didn't say we lost in the championship round, I said we were eliminated by the champions each year and that's exactly what happened for this year and last year. Whether we lost in the first round, second round, or third round doesn't change that fact.

Exactly. I guess we need to be extremely detailed in our comments to make sure the meaning is pretty clear. :-)

very true

and not only was OKC eliminated by the eventual NBA champion, but in both cases - OKC was the champion's toughest competition/games (conference wise, at least). ...

I dont think we're nipping at Dallas's heels, they are full aware that OKC is the team of the future and that future is next year - with all of hte experience gained and hopefully perfected.

But I am very glad Dallas won, not only the hate I have for the HEAT (love D Wade though, but Bron Bron MY GOD. ....) and the media's love fest with the heat factor, etc, but also that Dallas had to go through OKC to get to the finals. ...

Hopefully next year, OKC iwll take its rightful place at the top. But top 4 does feel real good, and after only 3 years. ....
