It was in the paper a few days ago: http://newsok.com/article/3651691
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a California-based coffee chain, is coming to Will Rogers World Airport
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, based in Southern California, plans to open a store inside Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport concourse this summer, in a deal with airport concessionaire Delaware North Cos.
ljbab728 02-27-2012, 11:26 PM Yes, as mentioned in my post number 57.

DelCamino 03-09-2012, 02:24 PM Does anyone know if there has been any recent moves by the Airport Trust on the proposed terminal expansion?
venture 03-09-2012, 06:23 PM 5 gates are now empty or will be. No demand for it.
OUman 03-10-2012, 07:00 PM Gate 11 is apparently used by United/United Express as overflow, but other than that it sits empty most of the day. Gate 1 isn't used by anyone except the rare charter that needs a jetway, and Gate 8 is also empty (the former NW Airlink gate). And then there's Gate 12, which is also empty. So yeah, 4 gates doing nothing. Unless there is a sudden boom in traffic I'd say OKC's got plenty of gate space left. By the way, there is no Gate 7 on the north side of the west concourse, they skipped to 9 for some reason.
venture 03-11-2012, 09:12 PM Don't forget Gate 10 is about to be unused as UA consolidates to 3,5, and 9. Two only sees a couple flights a day with Frontier pretty slow now. So that's almost 6 right there that are actually empty. Only 65% of the gates being used and their utilization rate probably still fairly low doesn't help with the business case to add more.
ljbab728 04-27-2012, 12:28 AM Will Rogers will be joining many other major airports who have a satellite rental car facility.

venture 04-27-2012, 07:59 AM Not a bad idea as it will help open up more covered parking near the terminal.
BoulderSooner 04-27-2012, 11:44 AM along with a 4.50 charge on renting cars to pay for the new 39MIL facility to be opened in 2015
HATE this idea for reasons already expressed in this thread.
And the add-ons for renting a car when you visit OKC are becoming absurd.
The problem with these types of decision is that the people most affected (like me) don't have a voice, or at least one that matters. It basically amounts to taxing a group that does not have representation.

Hate saying this Pete, but 99% of the locals won't rent from there either. They will go to the local edition sites instead. The group that will use the facility will be from out of town. Maybe the rental car companies will be paying more also ? I know they rent the space, but is it enough for capitol improvements......

Should have probably said that I live in California and rent a car at the OKC airport at least once a year.
venture 04-27-2012, 12:51 PM Could say that about more forms of transportation. The airline industry is one of the most heavily taxed, yet fees keep getting dumped on them.

Pete, I not saying you should like the fee but it's typical at airports everywhere. It's nothing unique to OKC. Taxes and fees represent a sizable portion of car rentals no matter where you go.
OUman 05-01-2012, 07:40 PM I had to rent a car at IAH in March last year when I flew down for a friend's wedding. I had to take a bus to the IAH Consolidated Rental Automobile Center (or CONRAC). They're coming up everywhere-ATL and IAH are kind of the "frontrunners" on this. I rented for two days and it wasn't too bad, but I decided to get one of the lowest rates and a compact from Enterprise. I imagine the price increases exponentially for anything larger.
