Janis Mercer, the embattled executive director of Jesus House, retired this week at the request of her board of directors.
“I really don't have any comment at this time,” Mercer said Friday.
The board asked for Mercer's resignation at the suggestion of the state attorney general's office, which has been investigating alleged financial mismanagement at the Oklahoma City nonprofit homeless shelter since last summer, said Kim Byrd, the board's chairwoman.
