My mother really needs deep tissue massages for her back each month and I really want to help her out with the costs. She currently goes to Elements (near Kickingbird) but they charge $75 an hour. I see a lot of others in Edmond charging from $40 - $55.
My question is: Have any of you received a deep tissue massage in Edmond and liked it? If so, name the place and if you don't mind what your paid.
Thanks in advance!!!!

DH and I both regularly go the Therapeutic Touch Massage. It used to be on Broadway, but they just recently moved to a new location on Danforth between Kelly and Santa Fe. They are much more reasonably priced, $40 I think, and they have some really great therapists there that do great deep tissue work. Also, if she goes on a regular basis, they sell punch cards which I think are $400 for 12 massages. That comes out to only about $33 each. In January DH bought one for each of us.

Isn't Deep Tissue massages painful? They are usually done for athletes. I tried a Deep Tissue and couldn't tolerate the pain, so I asked for a Swedish Massage instead.

Yes, it can be painful, but you can tell the masseuse how much pressure you want. If they get to be more painful than you like, you can always tell them to lighten up. I really enjoy deep tissue because it really helps release some painful knots. I've had them ask me occasionally if they are pressing too hard, because I'm forgetting to breathe. lol!!!!
