View Full Version : Stage Center
zookeeper 08-22-2014, 01:31 PM So sad. Why the need to make juvenile remarks about its destruction when you know it meant a lot to many here?
(Speaking to you, OKCISOK4ME. Always seem to be 36 going on 18 with many of your comments.)

Probably the same reason why so many keep posting about it being demolished after the process started (and now has nearly finished).

An interesting quote from that article:
Clark, who was once told by California officials it would take years to clear zoning and code requirements for a proposed project, praises Oklahoma City for its desire to ease development in the urban core.
“What’s amazing in Oklahoma City that I’ve found is this incredible ‘We’re going to make it happen mentality’ of the community,” Clark said. “A lot of cities are saying, ‘How do we support it and pay for it?’”
David 09-23-2014, 08:31 AM What's especially interesting to me is that that is the CEO of Clayco saying that, as well as stuff like:

Makes me idly curious if this is the only block in the city that Clayco might be interested in developing.

They seem to be acting as the "manager" for the stage center site. But they are also developing the block to the south with a rumored tower of their own. (Ie. Their own investment)
Interestingly, the old Stage Center site is now completely clear just as the new plans are set to be revealed.

Just being cleared is a huge improvement. I can't wait for the plans to come out.
NWOKCGuy 10-06-2014, 09:58 AM I guess this thread can officially move to the Nostalgia/Memories section.

Nice...boooooooooooooooooom!!!!
catch22 10-06-2014, 10:39 AM Just to clarify, there are two other threads to discuss the tower development.
This one should be left alone as it is now a demolished building. Perhaps Pete should now move this thread to the nostalgia and history section, it seems appropriate now.
I'm closing this thread for now.
