Today a building permit was issued for a 3-story 39,284 square foot new facility for the Oklahoma Employee's Credit Union.

I believe this is to go on a vacant lot on the west side of Lincoln just south of NE 30th.

Permit was let for $10.3 million, so this will be a significant structure.

I also believe the Legislature recently removed a fairly new clause in all state construction projects for the 1% of construction budget to go to public art for the project. It sure would be nice to keep that clause in there, especially for Lincoln Blvd. It is a really nice Blvd. with lots of potential and the newer buildings have nice public art out front that really make it aesthetically pleasing and feel like our peer cities.

This isn't a state govt building though. It will be right across from the new Department of Finance? Banking? Or whatever that was on 30th with the ring sculpture in front..

Not really a "Downtown" project (this is at 29th and Lincoln), it's Oklahoma Employee's Credit Union's new building. Sorry, I couldn't find a rendering of it, I should have gotten a close up of the sign.

It's going to replace their current building at 30th and Stiles:

There's also a neat new office mid-rise that went up at NE 50th and Lincoln, but we're getting a ways out from downtown. I understand that the State has a few more shovel-ready projects for the Lincoln Corridor despite the legislature killing the "Lincoln Renaissance" plan?
