The truly best little eating places, on my part anyway, remain secret. Why? If everyone knew about them you couldn't get in to eat. Nic's for example. I have a Thai buffet I love but it is already so crowded it can't stand any more business. Do you have any such places?

I used to love Dinas grill at may and hefner. I guess after the fire they decided not rebuild but still they had a great menu.

Also want to add the often overlooked Annie's Runway Cafe at Wiley Post airport

On May and W. Britton there is a nice little italian eatery. The name escapes me.

I knew of two that used to be in the area, Cafe Pranzo in The Colonnade and D'al Italia in the strip between the old Albertson's and the Chinese restaurant (former Shotgun Sam's and Jokers). D'al Italia closed in the early 2000's, before I moved to Austin, I think Cafe Pranzo was still open the last time that I drove through The Colonnade one time when I was in town.

I agree. The food is unremarkable.
