Made me want to look up and see if there are any individual clips of some of those artists like Jesse Colin Young after the Youngbloods period. ljbab728 01-14-2011, 12:51 AM Frisky, I probably saw over half of those live in concert so that was a nice clip. Some of the ones I enjoyed most were Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Don Mclean, and Simon and Garfunkel. My favorite wasn't shown and that was the Moody Blues. They were amazing. MustangGT 01-14-2011, 07:35 AM Moody Blues and Chicago!!! SOONER8693 01-15-2011, 10:02 AM anAuxXnJ56o I know I'm biased on this, but, I don't think there will ever be another era of music like the time from about '63 thru '73. bluedogok 01-15-2011, 10:24 AM General and Jmark, I sure remember everyone you mentioned. This was started as a 60's and 70's thread though and you reaching back into the 50's now. I never thought music really fell into the decade blocks like so many try and pigeon hole music into. The late 50's to early 60's is more similar in style than the early to late 60's, it seems most fall that way. It is typically how I classify the music for myself. jmarkross 01-15-2011, 05:35 PM An oddity from 1963...number one for three weeks... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtXQ31F1A-k Tragic demise in plane crash... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyu_Sakamoto FRISKY 01-15-2011, 06:12 PM An oddity from 1963...number one for three weeks... Things changed drastically in the mid 60's. Rock seemed to start taking itself more seriously and developed accordingly. ljbab728 01-16-2011, 12:36 AM An oddity from 1963...number one for three weeks... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtXQ31F1A-k Tragic demise in plane crash... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyu_Sakamoto I remember that well. I was in the U. S. Navy at the time and spent time in Japan, you would have thought this was the Japanese national anthem! I've never been so sick of a song in my life. I never took any acid, but if I had to imagine an acid trip/flashback the most likely candidate would be Pink Floyd's The Wall, it is a trip sober. jmarkross 01-16-2011, 09:52 PM I never took any acid, but if I had to imagine an acid trip/flashback the most likely candidate would be Pink Floyd's The Wall, it is a trip sober. I often enjoyed the Pink Floyd Laserium Show at Griffith Park Observatory in L.A. (early 70's)--booming music and a fantastic laser show on the ceiling...unforgettable. Only the Laser Show at Expo '86 where they shot laser beams into the bay at Vancouver from the other side and it refracted like crazy in the ocean was there ever a better laser performance.
