Ran over to The Olive Branch today to grab some hummus for lunch, only to discover that they were closed. Signs outside say simply "CLOSED," and when I made an out loud comment about it, a Devon construction worker in the building lobby told me they had closed a few days ago. He said that people stopped going, that there was a "story." He didn't elaborate, and since it was fairly obvious he was in a hurry, he didn't ask.

Attempts to contact them by phone have gone unanswered.

Every time I went in there it was packed full of both construction workers and other downtown workers alike.

I can only surmise two possibilities at this point:

1. The are going through the same OTC crackdown that others such as Leo's BBQ have been under (although isn't there an official OTC notice if that's the case?)

2. They just couldn't keep up with demand. While popular, they always seemed understaffed, and as a result, service was slow, especially for downtown workers needing a quick bite. Perhaps they struggled with that in the end. I thought the buffet had alleviated much of this.

Makes me wonder why things stopped so abruptly.

If anyone has any clue, let us know. I'll really miss their hummus.

Was sad to see they were closed as well. I've never tasted hummus as good as theirs. Anyone here happen to know anywhere else that makes it like they did?
