GoldFire 04-21-2012, 09:34 AM I checked out your website, James. Congratulations on your success and we will appreciate your imput here.
Thank you very much!
betts 04-23-2012, 03:25 PM They're putting the awnings on the commercial space today. They look good.

BoulderSooner 04-26-2012, 07:19 AM Is that corner space going to be the grocery store?
yes
GoldFire 04-26-2012, 01:33 PM A bunch of new pictures are up on their website at http://www.levelokc.com/build.
betts 04-26-2012, 03:14 PM I was trying to decide if there's a rooftop patio, based on those pictures. The elevator or stairwell is definitely higher than the roof, but I wasn't sure if that was just to let light in or if you could indeed access the roof. It looks like they're putting gates up on the first floor balconies, which are kind of cool looking.
Snowman 04-26-2012, 07:21 PM I am curious about why there is a second deadbolt on the doors.

On my tour I coulda swore the property manager said something about rooftop patio parties.
kevinpate 04-26-2012, 08:31 PM dbl d-bolt on a mostly glass door, balcony door at that, does sort of scream overkill. Maybe there was a special on a bulk buy of the doors?
sooner88 04-26-2012, 08:33 PM I'm guessing the double dead bolts are where you can lock the bottom from the outside with a key, and the top deadbolt you can only lock from the inside
wschnitt 04-26-2012, 08:58 PM The ones at the Lincoln at Central Park are like that too.
soonerguru 04-26-2012, 10:07 PM I am curious about why there is a second deadbolt on the doors.

Rough neighborhood.

Just the facts 04-27-2012, 07:33 AM They put two but you only lock one. That is so no matter how long the criminal tries to pick the locks he is always locking one.
Rover 04-27-2012, 06:16 PM The locks turn a certain way to lock and opposite to unlock. your scenario doesnt work unless you install one upside down and is double keyed.
Corey 04-27-2012, 06:17 PM Did anybody that's taken the tour recently get to see the personal storage at all? I've got a washer and dryer sitting here that I won't need, hopefully the storage is big enough to toss in there for a while.

Yeah there will be gates on the ground level balconies with the apartment #'s on them, but I didn't like how they put steps in the middle of the balconies on those units. It limits the space for patio furniture.
Also, not sure if it's already been posted, but here's a cool link to the Allford Hall Monaghan Morris site with details about Level. Check out the links on the left hand side. http://www.ahmm.co.uk/projectDetails/77/LEVEL-Urban-Apartments?sub=news
sooner88 04-29-2012, 07:50 PM I know it will look different once it's completed and has landscaping, but we drove by it yesterday and the initial reaction was that it looked like a prison. I think the black and white colors didn't help, but the balconies almost look like cells...
Visited with some of the new tenants while they were moving in this weekend. Hard to believe the move in schedule was met, but they seemed happy even with the ongoing construction.
soonerguru 04-30-2012, 10:53 AM Overall, this is a great project. However, I must say I'm disappointed in the final product from the renderings. I'm not as adept at many here at reading renderings. But there's just too much fake stucco for my taste. Still, though this is disappointing, it's still a solid living project for downtown OKC.

Not sure what prisons you've been looking at, but I think the landscaping will be a dramatic improvement.

I would love to live in that prison!! Preferably with a skyline view! It's a great and much needed addition to Deep Deuce, I'm really starting to like that area.
catch22 05-01-2012, 12:14 PM I agree it does look a little dry....
But, none of the landscaping or sidewalk is done. Potted plants and random decorations aren't on people's balconies. People aren't walking around. When this place takes life if will look great. Have hope!
Corey 05-01-2012, 12:23 PM I just got my keys, did my pre-inspection, and hung out there for a bit, and I think once the landscaping is done it'll look a MILLION times better. Re-confirmed that Aloft will completely block my view of Bricktown. I'll try to snap some pictures tonight. Also kind of surprised at how much work there is to be done. Doesn't bother me but I could understand it bothering others.
Didn't realize how much I missed the sounds of the city... F the 'burbs!
Birdseye view from today (5/1); great to see the moving van!

circuitboard 05-02-2012, 12:16 AM So if you live on the top floor, your car is not covered??
Corey 05-02-2012, 12:41 AM So if you live on the top floor, your car is not covered??
I asked the same question when I reserved my unit, which is why I went with a 3rd floor over a 4th floor... BUT, it is not assigned parking, you can live on the 4th floor and park on the 3rd(or 2nd or 1st)... If I woulda been told that when I asked, I'd be living in a 4th floor unit over a 3rd... ah well.

So what did they tell you when you asked about that?
Corey 05-02-2012, 01:53 AM So what did they tell you when you asked about that?
Me: I'm interested in unit #473 if that top level of parking will be covered. If it's not covered, then I am interested in unit #373.
Them: The 4th level of parking is not covered. Here's the info on unit #373.
I could've been more clear in what I was getting at with the parking question.
Spartan 05-02-2012, 07:02 PM Well, at least they were both honest and not trying to sell you on something you didn't want..
The phase two units were originally planned for a May 15th move in, but I was notified yesterday that it has been delayed to June 15th. However, I was able to switch to an available phase one unit and will be moving in next Saturday.
Corey, how's your new place? Got any pics?

Same here, got the call last night. Worked out since I ended up getting an apartment I would rather have had and will now be moving in on the weekend which will make things a lot easier. I wonder what caused the delay considering phase one seemed to be ready right on time.
Just the facts 05-04-2012, 08:25 PM To everyone moving into Level and the other downtown properties, I just want to say thank you for stepping up to the plate by moving downtown. For those that have been downtown residents for awhile, thanks for blazing a trail.

Yeah I'm happy with my new apartment. No idea what caused the delay though, and I was kind of surprised they notified us so close to the move in date. Made me think it must've been something unexpected. Which floor are you on? I'll be on 4.
Corey 05-05-2012, 11:32 AM Corey, how's your new place? Got any pics?
Sorry for the delay, I never get consistent updates on this thread. I like my new place a lot, I think I've already fallen in love with downtown living. I've got a 1-bedroom unit, the 1A floor plan I believe.
One end of my hall looking at a hall of apartments still under construction... not at all creepy at night BTW :Smiley099

Snowman 05-05-2012, 11:42 AM that is a bit sad.
To allow residents to customize it to what they like you are somewhat limited to black, white, silver and some neutral tones; anything other than that and you start getting large amounts of color schemes that will clash with permanent fixtures.
betts 05-05-2012, 02:58 PM I must say I like walking by and seeing tables and chairs on some of the balconies. I'm really waiting for the landscaping, however.

I'm on floor 3 now, was going to be on 2 originally.
Awesome, looks like you'll still have a partial view of downtown even after Aloft is finished.

Haha for real! It got me through my hunger cravings when I'd haul over crap from my old place. I wonder if they put it in EVERY person's fridge that moved in this week.
soonermike81 05-07-2012, 06:59 PM Would you guys know what the occupancy will be once all of the initial move-ins take place? The place looks great imo, and wondering if units are mostly rented out already.
GoldFire 05-14-2012, 08:19 PM Here's a shot of the view from my balcony!

Spartan 05-14-2012, 08:21 PM That will also be a great view, especially with the bikeshare station going in there this month, and soon enough the trams will be coming up that bridge.
