View Full Version : So What Do You Do....
Joe Daddy 12-26-2010, 07:44 AM For a living? Driving through OKC each day and seeing all the different businesses gets me curious as to all the jobs and small business possibilities.
Me? I'm in the corporate training and development industry. I design and deliver technical training courses, for private industry and government etc., along with some management responsibilities for my organization. Maybe not a glamorous career, but it's fun for me and I do enjoy it.
How about you guys? I bet there's some interesting and unusual work being done in OKC, alongside the traditional occupations, trades and businesses.
So...What do you guys do?

PennyQuilts 12-26-2010, 11:09 AM Lawyer with an emphasis on Guardian ad litem work (representing children in the courts) but have been on a Sabbatical for the last year since we moved back to Oklahoma from the east coast. I've been taking art classes to compliment my quilting but haven't been motivated to get back to legal work. I probably will hold off on that for at least another six months because I have a grandbaby due in February and will be out of town quite a bit. Even then, my preference is to stick with part time. Full time GAL work is hard on the heart.

Doug Loudenback 12-26-2010, 04:33 PM Pretty much a retired lawyer, pretty much a full time amateur Okc historian, and, when I can't seem to find it possible within me to avoid and/or escape it (although I don't care much for political discussions), taker of positions on contemporary Okc political issues, and, always, one who is intensely interested in the Oklahoma City Thunder.

BBatesokc 12-26-2010, 05:16 PM While I'm a licensed Private Investigator now and previously worked for several large corporations doing marketing and public relations, I'm lucky enough to make the bulk of my living in a way that was not possible a decade ago. I earn my living mostly through the Internet (a subscription based website I own, Google ad revenue through about half a dozen websites I own, I'm a YouTube Partner - so YouTube pays me based on views - over 40 million views so far, and I license video clips to production studios and networks all over the globe). Allows me to work from home and at my own schedule.
