View Full Version : Edge @ Midtown
Teo9969 05-12-2014, 12:22 PM I think it is supposed to help transition the environment from the "square" building style of the south and southeast (relative to this project, so midtown/auto alley) to the residential houses to the north and northwest.
Great minds think alike

HangryHippo 05-17-2014, 09:48 PM I noticed this afternoon that some of the awnings on the east side of this project are already sagging even though some are still being supported somewhat as you can see in the photo.
Anonymous. 05-19-2014, 09:34 AM Those corner units with the double sliding door balcony access on the SE corner.... Amazing. Wonder if people are able to pick units yet.

Yes, people have been reserving specific units.
They referenced this on their Facebook page.
HangryHippo 06-02-2014, 02:38 PM Brickwork has started on this building. It's not much to look at yet, but it is moving along.

They have a huge utility vault(?) just west of their main entrance. Really poor planning IMO. It'll be interesting to see how they dress up that turd.
NWOKCGuy 06-05-2014, 09:43 AM I had GoGo for an early dinner last night. Couldn't get any pics of the brickwork going up on 13th because I was driving - but it looks pretty slick!

You are right, it certainly is massive, I drive by nearly everyday.
Amazing to think that there are 2 or 3 more, like this or bigger that are in the early development stages for downtown Okc areas.

Actually just learned this is for members only and they've already sold out.

To think that there are 4 of them at or nearing completion (Level, Maywood, Mosaic, Edge) and there are at least 7 more significant-scale housing developments in the pipe-line…Downtown will be a whole new world in 3 years.
I talked with someone who works for Gary Brooks who told me their first move-ins are set for late August and they are already about 1/3 pre-leased in the first phase.
The second and final phase should be complete before the holidays.

This sounds like the leasing is more than 1/3.
Brooks said the response to the apartments to date is encouraging.
“Leasing is going well,” Brooks said. “About 50 percent of the units have been reserved for lease by future tenants.”
This sounds like the leasing is more than 1/3.
Gary Brooks and his leasing manager need to get their story straight. :)

That's funny (and typical) but sold out isn't much of a story.
mukkuu 06-16-2014, 12:28 PM Have they released what the units will rent for?
Plutonic Panda 06-16-2014, 12:30 PM This is cool. Didn't know they were doing this
The fifth floor of the complex’s garage will feature downtown’s first rooftop dog park.

I believe there is a price list somewhere further upthread.
warreng88 06-16-2014, 01:52 PM Am I the only one that think it would have been hysterical for Hustler Hollywood to open up in the retail of this complex?
adaniel 06-16-2014, 02:02 PM I think it would be a great idea.
I mean, are we a "Big Leauge City" or no? Where will young professionals and educated 20-somethings get their lube, handcuffs, and other assorted products for "sexy time"? I bet Charlotte and Austin have a Hustler Hollywood in their downtowns.

You never know when this

this will come in handy. It has many, many uses.
Can now see the different colors of brick being used:

HangryHippo 06-23-2014, 10:28 AM I wish they could go back and rebrick the Legacy apartments (Avana now I think) like they're doing with this. The Legacy complex has such a hideous exterior.

could or would? I'm pretty sure there's nothing that would stop them from doing so if they simply wanted to do it.

The new owners had proposed a pretty big exterior makeover. I have a call in to check on the status.

Would. Poor diction on my part.
onthestrip 06-23-2014, 12:07 PM While Im not sure I would personally ever want to live in a big apt complex, however, if I had to pick this would for sure be the one. The large clubhouse, the courtyard pool, the rooftop common area with a shallow water feature/tanning pool and the dog run that has great views of downtown...this would be the place I would pick if I was looking to rent an apartment in downtown area. The Edge looks like it will set the apt complex bar just a little higher.
DammitDan 06-23-2014, 01:39 PM Has there been any talk of retailers or restaurants that'll go into this?

So far, only the sex shop.

You beat me to it... which I'm sure said sex shop can help with as well.
I'm kinda annoyed with their leasing office. My girlfriend put a deposit down for a unit and was promised it would be finished in Phase I in August and then last week they told her they made a mistake and it was actually slated for Phase II in October. Seems like bad business to me.

Same thing happened to me when I was the first person to put a deposit down on the Deep Deuce Apartments. My building ended up being the third completed. I'm sure construction plans are fairly fluid.

Man that's frustrating. I've been pretty skeptical in the past about signing a lease for a place under construction in the past for this very reason. Hope things work out.

I thought the sex shop was phase 3? So there is still time to protest!

Well, the sex shop will be enormous.
I predict robust sales.
