There used to be a motel in the old Glendale (Crash Acres) edition. It was on 29th across from Tinker, late 60's early 70's. I can't remember the name of it.
I came across a old photo of a motel but not sure if that is it or not.

Frog Pond?

I remember that area. There was also a Long Bell lumber yard and two service stations along 20th. One I believe was a DX.

The Frog Pond is on the other side of Douglas

yes there was two gas stations on 29th and I do think one was a DX.
