I am moving to Los Angeles later this month to work for a bit and then go to grad school for screenwriting. As you all know, I am the opposite of a "grass is greener" person, so this is definitely not me trying to get out of Oklahoma. Just a career move. I will definitely still be checking in here as often as possible.

I will miss OKC a lot! Take care of it for me. :)

Wow, that's a bold move Jason! Congrats on undertaking such an exciting new adventure.

It sounds a bit like my story; packed everything I owned in a Uhaul and left OKC almost 20 years to this day... Came out here without knowing a soul and to start graduate school. I've never regretted it but of course miss Oklahoma and my family and friends there.

I've sent you a PM as well.

We need tracking monitor with electric shock capability on Jason! I think that would be the only way to bring him back to us. Pete is never coming back to us....

Well, good luck Jason. Enjoy LA, and I hope you'll stay active on here..maybe even provide us some more "big city perspective" lol.

I think we're seeing a case-in-point about loosing our young people.

But most of you are planning on coming back right? At least I hope so. I just love that there are young guys like you that are at least talking about coming back to better your hometown. Most of my friends from HS left for college and never even considered coming back or keeping ties with OKC at all.

Well, Jason is going to school for screenwriting..I'm just not sure what kind of opportunities his hometown would be able to offer him for that, unless he wants to be a trailblazer. I'm not sure how easy it is for a screenwriter to be a trailblazer..the film industry doesn't really "come to them."

Yes I understand that but he does at least seem interested in what happens in OKC. Maybe it will be him making a movie downtown in a few years after he writes a screenplay about his hometown.

Add me to that list, although I don't know which city for sure yet. Jobs is jobs.

Take care jbrown, best of luck and Godspeed. Don't become a stranger, you hear?!

Best of luck Jason! I know lots of Okie LA transplants. Don't forget us back home - and remember your l'il ole deadCENTER film festival - including screenwriting competition. Bring your talent back home!!

Haha thanks! No hard feelings. :)

I definitely hope to be successful enough to bring some film production here. We need a small studio like what Albuquerque has. It has been HUGE for them. Breaking Bad shoots there full-time. NOLA has True Blood and Treme. Austin has Friday Night Lights. No reason why we shouldn't have equivalent activity here.
