Last year, the Thunder was the best team in the NBA that nobody outside Oklahoma got to see play on TV. Other than the 6 playoff games, they were on national broadcasts only a couple of times. I think that is going to drastically change this season.

Including NBA TV games, I am putting their Over/Under 2010-2011 TV appearances at 19.

The NBA playoffs between the Lakers and Thunder are showing this week on NBA-TV (condensed version) so, I saved a lot of room cataloging them on my DVR.

Man... You guys have the bar set HIIIIIGGGGHHHHHH!! I think we'll get maybe 2 ESPN, 5 NBAtv, 2 TNT, and maybe an ABC but i doubt it. If we did, it would be the Laker. I guess we'll find out next Tuesday.

The Thunder were on NBAtv quite a bit last season. We were only scheduled maybe 2 games, but a couple games were replaced (with Thunder games) and we won Fan Night about 4 times or so...

I just think, due to the fact, that we had an injury free season, for the most part, and no one expected us to have such a big turn around that a lot of outsiders are suspect of us being true contenders, even if we "runned and gunned" with the best of them in Round 1 of the Playoffs.

If this team proves that they're top of the league material for a second year in a row then I think an over 19 games may be in it for the 2011-2012 season and you can bet on that!

I think we'll have a significant number of games this year and for years to come (given Kevin Durant is the prince of the NBA and the rest of the OKC squad is such a remarkable cast). This is what the NBA was looking for (IMO - a home grown, hometown team in the heartland.

Sort of like the Dallas Cowboys of the NBA - yep, that's the Oklahoma City Thunder in my opinion. And because of this, you have to show their many markee games (LA Lakers, New Orleans, Miami (of course), Boston, Portland, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando - I would definitely expect most of the games against these teams will be shown).

Well, I think its safe to say that at least one of their games against the Heat will be on national TV!

But seriously, I think the Thunder should get at least 10-15 national games. 2 of their games against the Lakers will probably be on ESPN and TNT, and 2 of their games against the Nuggets and 2 of their games against the Jazz will probably make TNT and NBATV. They should also get a game with Dallas and San Antonio on national TV, plus a game or two with eastern teams like Boston, Orlando, and Chicago. I don't see them getting more than 1 ABC game, if any at all. ABC/ESPN only seems to show the following teams on Sundays: Lakers, Mavs, Suns, Celtics, Magic, Spurs, Cavs. With the Cavs out of the equation, you know that they'll be replaced with the Heat (guhh), and I also look for the Bulls to get a few ABC games as well.

I've heard a lot of rumors that the Thunder will get a game on Christmas, too. It will more than likely be a late game against either the Suns, Jazz, Nuggets or Blazers.

So far, we're opening against the Bulls at home on ESPN, and then:

Oklahoma City will host the Denver Nuggets on Christmas Day at 7 p.m. in a nationally televised game on ESPN, and will travel to face the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers on January 17, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, at 9:30 p.m. The Martin Luther King Jr. Day game will air nationally on TNT.

It's a big deal to play on both Christmas and MLK, especially against the Lakers. We're getting some respect here.

On the marquee dates they blew my expectations out of the water. You gotta figure we will at least have one Sunday abc game vs Lakers, Spurs or Mavs. 10 ESPN/TNT/ABC games is not out of the question. Best news today was the elimination of KSBI as a broadcaster.

No, that sucks!

That's GREAT that KSBI was eliminated. It's much nicer having all the games in one spot. I'm also thinking that a 7pm xmas night game is a great way to end xmas day!

I wonder why they end KSBI as a broadcaster, maybe they can broadcast their games on other stations besides Fox Sports Oklahoma.

So right now it's:

ESPN - 2 ; TNT - 1 ; NBATV - 1; and ABC - 0

Total: 4

That's already 1 more scheduled than last year AFTER the schedule came out. The cool thing, too, is that 3 of them are at home!

I still think it will be less than 19 after next Wednesday, but "Fan Night" may get it close throughout the season.

HELL NO!!!! FSOK has a better HD picture than ESPN or any other network. If the game is on TNT and FSOK, I only reason I watch TNT is to see what Doug Collins and crew has to say about our team. Other than that the picture quality is WAY better!! Plus, with me having DirectTV I didn't get KSBI in HD.

Did you guys hear Kenny Smith and Steve Kerr say that KD is one of the top 3 players in the NBA right now? Sounds like the TNT guys are pushing for a few marquee matchups featuring the Thunder and our budding superstar.

I guess this means I'll have to start shaving every day since we're going to be so visible. LOL
