My Dad and Uncle are coming to visit from Canada and I want to send them to the best golf course in Edmond.

Edmond is preferable, but if there's a better course in OKC that's okay too. Looking for 18 holes.

Also - I just moved here a week ago - does it ALWAYS rain this much? Yikes. This past week has been pretty crappy.

Coffee Creek is in great shape right now. Stay away from Fairfax, between the flooding and the late freeze, they should only be charging 1/2 price. Its terrible there this year.

+1 on Coffee Creek. Also Kickingbird is very nice and a little easier.

Usually it's hot and dry by now. This is very strange.

I played Kickingbird a few weeks ago and it was in great shape. Though I think its a little overpriced, Rose Creek is still a nice course.

Oak Tree National is the best but you have to know a member. But Rose Creek, Coffee Creek, and Kickingbird are your best bets. Silverhorn is good because after 4pm it is only $15 plus cart. Some holes are still in rough shape but it was a nice surpirse to see them putting some money back into the course with new teeboxes.

Thanks for the info.

How's the course at Hefner Lake?

Hefner is decent - nothing special. I forgot about Rose Creek. That's very nice also but a lot more expensive. And it's pretty tough too.

Played Coffee Creek last night, the heat has really taken a toll on it over the last 2 weeks.

Lake Hefner Golf Course has 36 holes and is really busy most of the time. It is a decent municipal course. I like Fairfax more than Coffee Creek but I can see why some may not like it as much as other courses. Most public access courses in the Oklahoma City area run into issues with the heat in the summer. Hefner is usually in pretty good shape. I like Cimmaron National in Guthrie which is one of four courses owned by the Martin family. Whenever I play Silverhorn it seems to take longer than I like to play. Lincoln Park off I-35 and N.E. 36 is easily accessable from Edmond and has 36 holes. Lincoln is another well kept municipal course. Many say the West is the better course, I like the West and the East courses at Lincoln equally. I have played every public access course from Stillwater (Except Karsten Creek) to Purcell and from Clinton to Shawnee and numerous other Oklahoma Courses. Oklahoma has a lot of average to good courses at good prices. Oak Tree National in Edmond and Southern Hills in Tulsa are probably considered the cream of the crop but they are private courses.
