NORMAN — One of the looming issues associated with University North Park’s full build out is the uncertainty surrounding Legacy Park, the six- to eight-acre attraction that will one day be surrounded by high-end shopping and entertainment venues unique to Norman.

That was the plan anyway.

If it’s ever built, Legacy Park will be situated on the west side of 24th Avenue NW, north of the retail developments that include Super Target, Academy Sports and Outdoors and Petco, and it’ll be bordered on the east by the Interstate 35 frontage road. The park will feature a large pond, a stage and amphitheater, high levels of landscaping and public art.
