View Full Version : Jump to bottom of page?
FRISKY 06-18-2010, 01:51 PM What has happened to the forum that makes every page jump to the very bottom of the page after it loads?
It is a pain to have to scroll up to the top of every page to view it.
CuatrodeMayo 06-18-2010, 02:07 PM I'm having the same problem...
okc_bel_air 06-18-2010, 02:24 PM Same here
Me, too! It was doing this a few days ago also.
Thunder 06-18-2010, 02:53 PM Pete did something bad..... It actually started today.
Fix this or we will stop visiting.

no, he's right, it started a few days ago, but only lasted about 4 hours..
also, other thread here with the cause: http://www.okctalk.com/help-desk-suggestions/22241-google-analytics-com-annoying.html
Lauri101 06-19-2010, 05:43 AM It started with me yesterday and is still happening this morning.
The day before, some sort of cross-scripting was causing massive slowdowns - almost like a hack attack.
dismayed 06-19-2010, 11:01 AM It is quite annoying. I have found a workaround: if you will disable JavaScript in your browser it will stop this from happening.
Bunty 06-19-2010, 11:05 AM Or switch to the Google browser, which I'm using now. No guarantee, though, that other people will get the same result.
Thunder 06-19-2010, 11:24 AM There is a Top link at the bottom right. When the page jump down, just do the quick click to bring it back up. Until then, we'll have to wait for Pete to come back.
SWOKC 4 me 06-19-2010, 12:43 PM Yes... Pleas fix this as soon as possible. It gives me just enough time to read the first word of two of the first post then shoots me to the bottom of the page. ...quite annoying!
soonerliberal 06-19-2010, 03:36 PM It's been happening to me for a couple days now. I'm using Firefox.
OKCTalk is teh broke. And I don't mean just because they're still letting rcjunkie post here--they're broken for real!
Prunepicker 06-19-2010, 08:31 PM Mine goes to the bottom of the page then to iGoogle. Is this due to a
problem on OKC Talk?
Well QUIT it!
Prunepicker 06-19-2010, 08:32 PM I'm using Firefox.
As am I.
Doug Loudenback 06-19-2010, 09:10 PM As am I.
Me, too (Firefox); same problem since yesterday.
Steve 06-19-2010, 09:54 PM Goodness, I thought it was just me. Has anyone else had an occasional plug-in request pop up?
Prunepicker 06-19-2010, 09:56 PM This may sound disturbing, but I'm glad others are having problems. It's far
more comforting to know it's not my (our) PC.
Doug Loudenback 06-19-2010, 10:06 PM Agreed. I thought I might have picked up a virus ... uh, oh ... maybe we all have? Steve, no, haven't had that happen.
Thunder 06-19-2010, 10:23 PM Still no response from Pete or anyone capable with inside access. :omg:
Prunepicker 06-19-2010, 10:33 PM Goodness, I thought it was just me. Has anyone else had an occasional
plug-in request pop up?
It's your fault!
TROLL! TROLL! Site hijacker! HATER!
Well, at least I feel better than I did a few minutes ago...
It's still all your fault.
FRISKY 06-20-2010, 08:53 AM No pop-ups.
USG '60 06-20-2010, 10:31 AM No pop-ups.
Huh? Translate. :)
ExtremistPullup 06-20-2010, 11:06 AM It is quite annoying. I have found a workaround: if you will disable JavaScript in your browser it will stop this from happening.
works....Thank you!
MsDarkstar 06-20-2010, 11:08 AM Mine has been doing this as well; like many of you, I thought it was just my system being wonky lol. Just now when I clicked on this page, it did the jump to the bottom then my anti-virus popped up & said trojan detected. Dunno what's going on :/
FRISKY 06-20-2010, 03:55 PM Has anyone else had an occasional plug-in request pop up?
No pop-ups.
Huh? Translate. :)Just answering Steve's question.
venture 06-20-2010, 04:27 PM I haven't had this issue, but I also have all annoying ads blocked (i'm using Chrome). I believe Pete started to spam ads at the top of the page now - at least I think...I just see a blank white box at times when there is something there. Could be what is causing it. Just find a way to set your browser to block the annoying ads and you should be good.
Spartan 06-21-2010, 02:01 AM Haven't had the plug in request. What I've just had to do is hold on to the scroll bar until the page finishes loading and it will bounce back to where I was holding the scroll bar. It's annoying, but eventually it becomes part of your OKC Talk reading habit.
USG '60 06-21-2010, 07:31 AM Hallelujah... it's fixed. :k-bunny:
bombermwc 06-21-2010, 08:07 AM It's messed up again. The javascripts keep doing crap and eventually it's closing the browser.
Spartan 06-21-2010, 11:04 AM I had the same problem this morning around 8 and gave up, came back and now it's fixed. Great.
Steve 06-21-2010, 11:04 AM Seems fixed to me.
Thunder 06-21-2010, 11:31 AM I turned off the Javascript, but now the forum navigation menu does not work.
Venture, I see no indication of any banner ads being put on the site. No, I do not have any blocker installed on this laptop.
Pete, you really need to start being an admin and actually respond to threads in the help/report area.
