Luke 08-09-2010, 08:06 PM Just got mine this past weekend. Tried to drop calls... tried to death grip it... tried to touch the right spot in order to zero out the bars... can't do it. I guess I got a dud. flintysooner 08-09-2010, 08:13 PM I set up AT&T Smart Limits for Wireless so I could block these spam text messages. This costs. While I was doing that I found out about http://mymessages.wireless.att.com/ to block emails to text messages. Maybe there's better way that HewenttoJared knows but this is working for me so far. Really annoying getting spam text. BBatesokc 08-10-2010, 08:35 AM I just hope the two recent Mac rumors are true..... 1.) That Verizon is going to start carrying the iPhone (maybe that will force the cost of service to become reasonable). 2.) That the next iPod Touch will feature a video/still camera (which would all but eliminate my desire for an iPhone). CuatrodeMayo 08-10-2010, 08:39 AM The verizon rumor is as old as the iphone itself. Based on their recent marking push for the Android OS and they partnership with google for the latest Droid, I'd say they've given up trying to get the iphone and are instead looking for the mythical "iphone killer". Actually, it has been long confirmed that Apple and Verizon have been in talks about offering an iPhone on their network. Its just that we've yet to see the fruits of those talks. The fact that Apple's exclusivity contract with ATT most likely ends in 2011 means it is much more likely that Apple has a plan to reach out to another provider. Throw in the fact that you can legally jailbreak the phone and thus use it on other networks simply reinforces the obvious business strategy to add another popular carrier. I'd say it is more likely than not that the iPhone will soon appear on Verizon's networks. flintysooner 08-10-2010, 10:38 AM The network is a big problem which is why if anyone gets an iPhone besides AT&T it is likely T-Mobile. Really annoying getting spam text. That's the best we've got at the moment. Pretty lame in my opinion. HewenttoJared 08-10-2010, 05:31 PM Has anyone been keeping up with MSNBC's war on the iPhone? It's ridiculous. Spartan 08-12-2010, 09:11 PM The network is a big problem which is why if anyone gets an iPhone besides AT&T it is likely T-Mobile. I concur. I've been threatening t-mobile to switch to AT&T so I can get an iPhone and every time I do that, they throw a free phone at me--usually whatever they have at the moment that's supposed to compete against the iPhone. I just got a new Samsung Galaxy for free in the mail this week. I really like t-mobile's service outside the country, in Canada and esp Europe, so I wouldn't switch anyway. |
