Didn't see another thread on this years festival. It starts June 9th, (next Wednesday). 10th anniversary is going to be better than ever.

deadCENTER Film (http://www.deadcenterfilm.org/)

They announced last night that Mat Hoffman will be debuting his new film at the festival, I belive it's called "Big Air". There was also a big announcement last night of a featured guest that would be appearing, but I missed it. Anyone know?

I've been thinking about it and I might do a full screening pass, but it looks like I might have to anyway. Are they not doing individual day passes like they did last year?

Spartan, I'm sure they are, as they also usually do individual movie passes. They will probably put the prices up later, or not at all on the website. The passes are all access passes.

deadCENTER Film Festival 2010

The 10th Annual deadCENTER Film Festival will take place June 9 through June 13, 2010 at seven locations in downtown Oklahoma City.

Founded in 2001, the deadCENTER Film Festival – named for its central geographic location -- has grown to become a premiere international summer event. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend this year for our tenth anniversary! DCFF is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, providing year round events to support our mission to promote, encourage and celebrate the independent film arts.

The highly interactive 5-day festival offers more than 100 world-class film screenings, 12 official deadCENTER parties, and four expert panel discussions on the latest trends in filmmaking, in the electric atmosphere of a youthful festival in one of America‟s fastest rising cities. Programming ranges from romantic comedies and serious and not-so-serious documentaries to animated shorts and the alternative stylings of indie filmmaking legend Lloyd Kaufman.

Featured films at this year‟s festival include:

*The Birth of Big Air,” the story of Oklahoma-born BMX trailblazer Mat Hoffman, produced by Johnny Knoxville and Spike Jonze and directed by Jeff Tremaine. Premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. This film will be screened on Wednesday, June 9 as part of the kick-off block party.

*“For The Love of Movies: The Story of American Film Criticism,” the first documentary to dramatize the rich saga of American movie reviewing. Directed by Boston Phoenix critic, Gerald Peary and featuring commentary from America‟s best-regarded reviewers.

Other films gaining local and national attention include the world premieres of documentary features: “The Wayman Tisdale Story,” and, “A Good Day to Die,” and Slamdance Film Festival standout, “Biker Fox,” narrative features, “The Four-Faced Liar,” “Armless,” and, “Holy Rollers,” and a quirky short from The Flaming Lips, “Blastula: The Making of Embryonic.”

Admission: All-Access Pass, $125 (all screenings, parties and panels); Screening Pass, $75 (all screenings); Individual Screening Tickets, $10.

Locations: [Artspace] at Untitled, 1 N.E. 3rd St.; IAO Gallery, 706 W. Sheridan; Kerr Auditorium, 123 Robert S. Kerr Ave.; Oklahoma City Museum of Art, 415 Couch Dr.; Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library, 300 Park Ave.; Automobile Alley, 500 block of Broadway Ave.; The Lawn at North E.K. Gaylord Blvd. & N.W. 3rd St.

deadCENTER Film (http://www.deadCENTERfilm.org) starts tonight and there is no reason that you can't be there! There are three choices:

Choice #1 FREE!!!!

FREE outdoor screening of The Birth of Big Air . Broadway Avenue will be closed from 4th to 5th Street beginning at 6pm to set-up for the event.

“If you’re going to close down Broadway to show a movie, it better be something incredibly special,” states Executive Director, Cacky Poarch. “The screening is free and open to the public; an experience that – much like his skate park by the river -jives with Mat’s dedication to our city.”

Grab your lawn chairs and enjoy a one-of-a kind event in Oklahoma City. Concessions and ‘rolling entertainment’ provided by BMX bikers and Roller Girls will begin around 7pm. The free screening will begin as soon as it gets dark … around 9:30pm. Star and Oklahoma Legend Mat Hoffman and Producer Spike Jonze scheduled to attend.

Choice #2 $125 All Access Pass

Buy your All Access Pass and get into a dozen parties and 100 films over the 5-day festival. Tonight there are two All Access parties!!!! One at TAP Architecture that starts at 7:00 and an after-party at Makers Cigar Lounge after The Birth of Big Air.

Choice #3 $100 Gets you Behind the Velvet Rope!!

How in the world does deadCENTER host so many free events ... year-round, even?? YOU! And for our 10th Anniversary, we are adding yet ANOTHER party. Exclusive, separate ticket, with exclusive separate fun. Join Mat Hoffman and Spike Jonze at this inaugural deadCENTER fundraiser. The exclusive event will be held inside Red Primesteak and precede the free outdoor screening of the Mat Hoffman documentary “The Birth of Big Air”. $100 ticket includes access to event, PRIME SEATING for the outdoor film, signature cocktails, Stella Artois, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Plus, spectacular auction items ... I can't wait to tell you - because they are big. This is a different, special way to support deadCENTER. If you have an All-Access pass ... you still need to buy a ticket to this event. Do it. You know we put the 'fun' in FUNdraiser!!! You can buy your ticket at deadCENTER Film (http://www.deadcenterfilm.org) until 2:00 today or buy one at the door!!

My son and I went last night. I really enjoyed the movie and had no idea about Mat Hoffman's story. I especially loved all of the references to OKC in the film.

I don't recall them ever having single-day passes.
