Kind of a last ditch effort here but just in case anyone heard any mention of it, I'd appreciate further information.
Basically heading home with the kids at 5:30pm today (June 1), I was going east on I-40 after the Turnpike junction just before MacArthur when we encountered a huge black rig carrying heavy equipment along with a white truck escort bearing a wide load sign. The white truck had a license plate number of 164 EHR, and the black truck rig stated Licensed by Bassett on a blue background on the rig's driver door.
It would seem that they didn't wash off the heavy equipment being transported and the rig was throwing up a high volume of small chunks of rock. Needless to say I had about 7 hit hard enough as I was passing in the far left lane (the rig being in the far right) that I've got several cracks in the glass now. I attempted to record more information but gave up due to the constant barrage. That and the white truck started swerving back and forth across two lanes assumably when it realized I had slowed down to gather its license plate. Unfortunately and understandably there wasn't much the Highway Patrol could do and they informed me I can come by to file a report.
That being said if anyone else was similarly affected or knows someone who was that might have gotten more information, I would be most appreciative as the repairs will no doubt be less than my deductible but still an unwelcome expense. I'd love to address it with the trucking company.
