I'm wondering what readers' favorite pho restaurant is in OKC? And what's your favorite bowl? Type of noodle, topping etc. I've recently been reading some blogs about Japanese noodle shops (eg Ramenate! (http://www.ramenate.com/) ). I had pho at Lido and a shop (whose name escapes me) this is next to the Super Cao Nyugen, but there are a lot of other shops in the area and I'm wondering where to explore next.

Mr. Pho is where I frequent most often.

Rare steak & brisket is my most common bowl.

The one I go to, whenever I do have pho that is, is Pho Cuong on 30th and Classen (housed in an old Long John Silvers; the same one at which Wayne Coyne was employed, if I recall correctly).

I'll take whatever the standard noodle is with rare steak, tripe, and stuff along the line of the latter. I like to garnish with the bean sprouts and basil, and usually not with the sauce provided.

I haven't eaten at any of these, but I have to tell my story. Some of you might remember this restaurant being there, I think it was on 23rd, close to Broadway. The guys from my work loved to go there if only so they could say the name of it. Pho Hoa. They got the biggest kick out of that.

Pho Cuong is the BEST authentic noodle house-- get the #18, Spring Rolls there rock... I drive from Edmond to eat there at least twice a week

Pho-Nomenal is also really good

Pho Lien isn't too bad either

Pho Cuong was a really pleasant surprise for me. I prefer it to Pho Hoa.

I most frequent Mr. Pho (at Super Cao Nguyen Grocery) and get the Pho Ga
the Beef versions are too rich for me -- the broth has alot more intense flavor of cinnamon? star anise? I CRAVE the chicken broth.
I add some of all the herbs & sprouts & jalapenos & lime
then a swirl of siriacha sauce ....

have also been to Ca Dao for Pho Ga and Bun noodle bowls - they are at 24th & Classen, in the strip of shops behind the old Hoover shop.

Both places are always crowded and the service is fast!

Pho-Bulous at 33rd and Broadway in Edmond. Chicken noodle soup with bean sprouts, basil, lime juice, jalapeno slices and a little splash of siriacha. I also like their fried spring rolls with noc mam sauce. I always get a "small" bowl and can never finish it.

pho cuong is probably the best....used to go there all the time until pho ever opened on the corner of rockwell and xpressway. its so close to me that i cant justify the trip way down to classen, and i know the owners so getting hooked up is also a plus!

I'm by no means an expert, but I like Pho Saigon on Classen. And I love the Thai Basil stir fry. They don't overdo it with a variety of vegetables, which lets the basil really stand out in a good way.

In my opinion, Pho Hoa is the best in OKC (however, I think their name changed). I get the small rare steak with extra meat (about $7). I live in Edmond, so if I don't want to make the drive Pho-Bulous is a good #2.

The only place we've eaten at is Pho 89.

It was okay.

They have hairy meat & bologna soup......
Going to have to try another place for sure.

My favorite pho: my mom's pho of course. :k-bunny:

Next best noodle bowl (sorry not pho):
Pho Hoa Lien's H5 (clear bean thread noodles w/soup on the side [comes w/pork, shrimp, imitation crab, & a shrimp cracker) (initially named Pho Hoa)

I married into an Asian family with lots of Asian friends and I believe this restaurant is without question the favorite among them. I say "I believe" because I'm not sure of the name but the Google map image appears to be the one I'm thinking of. There is a place next door with the best fried tofu in town.
