Has anyone heard what is going in at the corner of NW 164th & May across from 7/11 and MidFirst Bank? They just built a new Mcd's a few weeks ago...

Awesome. I just bought a place right on that intersection. It'd be nice to have a drug store in walking distance.

Yes and No. Sometimes the web data is inconclusive. There are times when it may list just the developers name until the construction is complete. Not to mention some developers will build a shopping center in one place and a medical office/business park in another.

Grocery Store... Is what we need out at this end of town. Sick of having to go down to Walmart near the mall. Bring a Crest out this way. Or some other Supermarket chain.

You've got a Walmart neighborhood mart at NW 164 and Western as well...

Crest is 3 miles away from 164th and May...Neighborhood Market is 2 miles...that's too far??

Neighborhood Market would be close enough if you WANTED to shop at the Walmart Monster. Some of us HATE them.

As for Crest that's where we go.

I know this is hard to believe, but Crest isn't necessarily the saintliest store/owners either...

Haha exactly - I live very close to crest and at times wish I was further away. Unless you are walking everywhere, I'm not sure why 3 miles is an obstacle.

Walgreen's will be a welcome addition to the area for my family. I just hope it's open 24 hours. It's so convenient to pick up some meds for the kids in the middle of the night.

A few years ago there was nothing in this area. First 7-11 and Midfirst, then McDonald's, and now a Walgreen's. The Brahms close by is also great.

Since we're discussing new stores in this area - is the Cool Greens open yet?

North/South construction of May is finished. Traffic lights are operational at the intersection. I believe they are still planning to expand 164th though.

Excellent.

Now they just need to update the new neighbourhoods on maps so the're findable by GPS.

I know, i hate that. I don't want to upgrade my software to my GPS yet because I know it will be for nothing. It will be another year before they update it. Which neighborhood are you moving into Casey?

Moving into Muirfield Village.

I can't even Google Streetsview stalk it.

Walgreens has owned that site for quite a while, but due to "restructuring" within the company they will not be begin construction for awhile. It was supposed to have begun about 2 years ago. They have gone from opening 3-5 stores per year in Oklahoma, to only one. The newest one is opening soon in Purcell.

will it be 24 hours?

does this mean they will be building a CVS on the opposite corner ?

EP, Walgreens owns the site but there hasn't been official word on when construction will start. Normally CVS would build on the opposite corner but they've actually acquired a corner site at NW 178th & Penn.

CVS may still build at 164th and Western, in Norman they are completing a new CVS Store at 36th Ave. NW @ Tecumseh and theres already one at 36th Ave. NW @ Robinson. (1 mile apart)

Actually, Robinson to Tecumseh would = 2 miles apart.

I was very happy they built another Braum's. Now if 7-11 or some other gas station would build something on the corner of Waterloo and Western. That would be cool.
