Ok ..this is going to be a shot in the dark ...
I was sitting in my living room watching cops tonight ..in a little home somewhere in texas ..when I had a sudden flashback of a restaurant on classen blvd.
But I can't remember the name....
Here's the best I can describe where it was and what it looked like.
The year ..somewhere in the early 80's.
If you were on nw expressway ..and you pass penn square on your left ...and keep driving ..until you hit Classen ...then turn right on Classen so that you are heading south ......I'm not sure how far down it was .....but I would say within a mile after turning on Classen
I believe the restaurant had to do with hot dogs? or pizza? ....which also could have been part of the name.
It had blue or purple neon lights on the building or in the windows. And I believe it had some arcade games inside.
Thats all I can remember.
Anyone remember that??
*fingers crossed*

I don't remember the restaurant. Have you gone to the library downtown and checked the city directories? They are a plethora of information. I have found quite a bit of useful tid bits of history in them.

There was a Der Weinerschnitzel fast food place at about 28th and CLassen back in the 60's and 70's. I think there was a Pizza Planet somewhere on Classen but I can't remember where.

I often have flashbacks like that concerning my "early" years. Don't know if it was real or not and sometimes I do not want to know!!!!

'80s? Neptune's Subs is at 32nd and was there then but I believe that building was something else before it was Neptune's. At 33rd is currently a cafe and it was a Sambo's Pancake at one time. Don't remember if it was still that in the '80s. Other than that, I was thinking there wasn't much north of there except at the intersection of Classen and NW Expressway with the BBQ place being the busiest place there during that time.
