Looks like they finally decided to demolish my old elementary school. I went there in the early eighties.
I was not even aware okc public schools still owned the property.
Hopefully they can salvage some of the cool architecture, Or whatever else they find in there.
Would be cool to tour it one last time..

Great portico. Too bad we can't just move it and build a building around it.

I wonder why they can't do the Asbestos abatement and turn that facility into an alternative school for the kids....I know for a fact that Sante Fe South offered to lease or buy the building about 8 years ago......They were going to attempt putting a School there...They got no cooperation from OKC Schhols System and ended up taking over Grace Academy. And, they are doing just fine...

I sometimes wonder if it has anything to do with political correctness. For those of you who do not know, Jefferson Davis was the president of the Confederate States of America.
South OKC has four schools named after Confederate icons: Jefferson Davis Elm. Robert E. Lee Elm, Stand Waite Elm, and Stonewall Jackson Middle School. Was the naming of a new school when first constructed named U.S. Grant to appease someone?
