You need to try Ben and Jerry's, Willie Nelson Peach Crunch!
MadMonk 04-20-2010, 10:24 AM Watermelon ice cream sounds great. I make a very good vanilla ice cream (it's more of a frozen custard really) so it's my favorite. I also have excellent recipes for chocolate and peppermint varieties.
If it's not home made though, I'm really fond of Marble Slab's double dark chocolate and butter pecan.
JuJuBeans 04-20-2010, 11:51 AM Only store-bought brand or commercial brand ice cream I like is Haagen-Dazs Midnight Cookies and Cream! I also love Laloo's Black Mission Fig goats milk ice cream (you can get it at Akins)
OKCDrummer77 04-20-2010, 12:25 PM Braum's vanilla. I am pretty vanilla, myself!
Vanilla's underrated. The vanilla soft serve at the Sam's Club snack bar is one of my favorites.
old okie 04-20-2010, 12:28 PM Braum's Strawberry Frozen Yogurt--and it is VERY hard to find on a consistent basis!
If calories don't matter, give me Pistachio Almond!
Had some great ice creams out of state, but they were local to their areas only.
MuseMOKC 04-20-2010, 12:30 PM Better than batter ice cream from Maggie Moos is pretty tasty.
My favorite used to be coconut from Kaiser's.
Is the ice cream at Grateful Bean made from Kaiser recipes?
jstaylor62 04-20-2010, 02:11 PM Starbuck's used to make an ice cream called Mud Pie. It was awesome! But they have stopped making it...depression sets in...

I will check it out!
bluedogok 04-20-2010, 08:58 PM I always liked the Cinnamon Crumb Cake at Braum's during the holidays, they haven't had it for about 10 years. Another one is the Häagen-Dazs Macadamia Brittle, I can't find it in stores anymore, only at a Häagen-Dazs store/counter. The best that I ever had was a White Chocolate Ice Cream at an Italian restaurant in Dallas.
Now I get Peanut Butter Cup at Braum's when we are up there, here in Austin I will get the White Chocolate at Amy's Ice Creams, it isn't as good as Alessio's but still pretty good. During peach season in the Hill Country there is some pretty good peach ice cream at the farms out there. At home we get the Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla, my wife prefers vanilla.
gen70 04-20-2010, 11:17 PM I use ta like the chocolate almond at Braums. Still would if I could get it.
Dustin 04-21-2010, 01:57 AM Without question, butter pecan sundae from Braums..

mugofbeer 04-21-2010, 10:44 AM I always had memories of Kaiser's chocolate as being just like home made as I was growing up. Plus, I don't remember anyone else having those cool double-cones like they did.
Caboose 04-21-2010, 11:10 AM I have to admit I have a weakness for Braum's Rocky Road.

Oh yes! Those double cones were fantastic! I loved the chocolate chip (made with miniature chips instead of regular ones or chunks). Kaiser's was wonderful!
I had forgotten about the double cones at Kaiser's. Does anyone know if they use the same ice cream recipes at Grateful Bean? Seems like I heard that was the case. I need to walk down the street and check it out. I have not found ice cream at any place since with a similar homemade taste.
traemac 04-21-2010, 06:11 PM chocolate habanero at il dolce gelato
IanMcDermid 04-23-2010, 07:47 AM Had an amazing ice ice cream soda at grateful bean the other day. It took 10 minutes to make and only 15 seconds to demolish.
Storebought has to be the UFO ice cream sandwich from the 7-11 freezer. .99 cents bebe!
