I didn't know how to title this thread, but the area i'm talking about is along I-40 crossing E. Reno before the highway hooks west. There is a set of abandoned apartments, ODOT has a station here.. there is Thompson/Eagle lake here... anyway, I keep hearing different development stories about this area. So far i've heard it's going to be a new place of boutique retail, a medium scale mixed use retail village, an outdoor mall, etc... i'm not sure about anything. Assessors website shows no sales of land, nothing online through google searches, and no talk here at OkcT....???

anyone got anything?

Think its being cleared to reduce population density around Tinker.

I've heard rumors about both Costco and Cabela's, but not sure if there's anything to it.

It would be a nice addition to continue development straight down reno...

You're way off the mark. It's too far from Tinker.

The abandoned apartments that I can think of is Eagle Point, which is near Reno. There is another apartments across from Eagle Point, but not sure if that is still open or closed.

These were owned by the same folks that owned Kristie Manor in Del City. They were condemned at the same time as part of the same legal battle with the California ownership. I have a feeling they will stay boarded up unstil someone wants to build there. We just got lucky that the other site had room for the gas station as well.

The property with the condemned apartments on the North side of I-40 at Scott street I thought had been sold to an indian tribe who is planning a hotel/casino for the site.

I think there is a lot of potential in this area for development... it just needs to be linked to the BT area.

Casino huh, well that's a crazy rumor I hadn't heard. If i remember the law right, tribes can only build a full casino on their own land...not on land they buy. So they'd have to populate it only with things like slot machines...no card games.

But anyway, the place is going to sit there like the eyesore it is for who knows how long.

The last I heard one of the tribes had purchased the complex on the Northside of I-40. No plans had been mentioned for it's use. I just think the rumor mill is just assuming a casino will be built because one of the tribes had expressed intrest in Bricktown property a few years ago.

The property's proximity to Bricktown would make a Casino idea however, that area is still pretty rough. OCPD has worked several homcides at Grand Hill over the last year. I do not see a casino or anything anytime soon.

My money would be on a new medical clinic or the tribe may just hang on to the land and sell it off piece by peice to developers.
