Demolition of the Robinson Street Underpass has already started.

Headed north on Robinson from Capitol Hill you can get to the underpass and then take a "road" that has been built heading east to Shields.

If weather is not too bad I think I'll take a walk-around Sunday to see how extensive the "damage" is.......:tiphat:

I made that trip today, it is very saddening. My better half commented that she had been through there not long ago and honked. I guess that was her last time, she loved doing that, it reminded her of when she was young riding in the car with her dad. We are slowly but surely losing all of the landmarks of our youth.

Being a southside boy, I made that trip several times. My father worked for a trucking company just north of there, Loving Trucking. Things change, it's very sad. I don't go to the southside anymore. It's just sad to see what has happened.

Now, don't you GUYS remember "Dead Man's Curve" on south side. When they tore that out and redid it it was for the Betterment of OKC....It was fun though Huh????

"dead man's curve" was where the i-240/i-44 interchange is now... right?

It sure would be nice if there were folks out there - maybe an organized group of history advocates - who would endeavor to preserve some artifacts from that bridge...
