G - Granada Florists. Yes, it's still open, but my cousin has worked there almost 40 years and owned it the last 30. That qualifies as history.

Kennards was on my route when I drove a Coke truck, '73-'76. Old man Kennard was pretty crusty, but all of us vendors really liked him.

C - Criterion Theater. Downtown. I saw Bonnie and Clyde, Thomas Crown Affair, Planet of the Apes, Bullit, and God only knows how many other first run features here. Best theater in OKC in the late '60s.

E - El Charrito. This maybe should have been a "C", oh well. Worked at the restaurant on Paseo, on and off, from '67 to '70. They sold out to Dallas' El Chico around '69 I think.

Well I am going to make a clarification here:

International House of Pancakes. Next to St. Anthony, and the one on N. May across the street from NW Classen. Those two places were great and the new ones around town, or out of town for that matter really suck and too high priced.

Better yet, ta daaa, the West Ten theater on 10th between May and Portland. Until just now I hadn't thought of it in DECADES. I was a dive even in the 50s.
