My favorite snow bound comfort food is Sheperd's Pie. Made with Lamb, not beef. Oh, don't forget a nice bottle of Cabernet :)

So what's you favorite snow bound comfort food?

I'm in the process of moving, and wasn't even supposed to be here for the holidays. I've got a couple of packages of Easy Mac, and managed to unpack the box that has the bowls. That's about as comforting as it gets around here right now.

Now that my kids are in out of the cold (not here - but safe, nonetheless), I am cracking open a cabernet!

Beer. Not the Oklahoma headache inducing low point though.

Last night was a big pot of stew. Knew it was good, ut how good became clear when elder son, not the only occasionally picky foodie in the house, commented he suddenly realized not one of them was saying something could have been reduced, left out or added to the ensemble. It's the same stew served up since they were all little but now everyone is really fine with it.

Nice. Especially the third bowl. 8^)

Full on breakfast- french toast, eggs, bacon, mimosas. Usually I won't go to the trouble because I'm wanting to get my day started and get out the door, but yesterday was the perfect day to linger over breakfast/brunch.

This past week it's been the leftover Christmas food. Ham, sausage balls,
sharp cheddar with saltines and tons of Chex Mix and sweets.

My comfort food arrived by UPS yesterday, a old high school buddy sent me 20 lbs of home made jerky. (vinison, elk, moose, beef)

Watch out where the huskies go,
and don't you eat that yellow snow!

Small children with mustard...

Madam, there's no such thing as a tough child -- if you parboil them first for seven hours, they always come out tender.
They are also very good with mustard.

No offense, I'm just not sure how appetizing that sounds. Perhaps as a delicacy served up as part of a "Survivor" or "Amazing Race" challenge.

I hear ya! Love a nice oaky red wine on a cold day - cab hits the spot!
