And there was one on S.W. 44th and just west of S. Pennsylvania.

Yes, you are right about the one on 44th St. But, the first McDonalds in OKC was located on S.W. 29th between May and Agnew....South side of the street and the Grand Opening was in 1961....The Roosevelt Band Played for the Grand Opening.....Burgers were 11 Cents and Cheeseburger was 15 cents.....

That must be what I am remembering then. Why It got confused with the
McDonalds I don't know. I must have been about 4 years old, and I
remember trying to see how far I could run up the side of the A-Frame

Talked to Sherri at the Diner a few months back; they have started their 21st year there in business. I asked her if that didn't use to be the "Monterey House" and she confirmed that was exactly what it was! I ate their for quite a few years (Mexican Food). The building your thinking of I believe was next door to Sherri's to the West!! Pizza Planet started on S. Penn at the south end of the strip center where Gerald's Donut's is at about 58th about S. Penn, used to be "Ginny's Pub." Gen70 probably remembers Ginny's, I know I spent toooooo much time there. LOL

I checked with my dad, and he says the Griff's building was bought
or leased by McDonalds and ran as a McDonalds, before they built
the new store on 60th and Penn, he seemed to think it was only
a McDonalds for a short while, maybe they did it for training of
the new crew for the 60th & Penn store.

My Parents live right around there between Agnew and Villa on SW
47th, and have since I was 4 or 5, so I would think he would know.

No one else remembers this though?

I remember that! At the time I couldn't stand mustard on anything. Ate a
part of one burger and thought I was going to die! Wouldn't eat there again
until they started the Filet-O-Fish sandwich on S. Penn. I remember the big
sign promoting the FOF. I still like 'em.

Here is an article from Slash/Dot reguarding the accuracy of wikipedia:

Nature magazine recently conducted a head-to-head competition between Wikipedia and Britannica, having experts compare 42 science-related articles. The result was that Wikipedia had about 4 errors per article, while Britannica had about 3. However, a pair of endevouring Wikipedians dug a little deeper and discovered that the Wikipedia articles in the sample were, on average, 2.6 times longer than Britannica's - meaning Wikipedia has an error rate far less than Britannica's."

Granted these tests were done in 2005, and only on science articles, but the
accuracy compares favoribly.

This was actually on several news services when it was published.

The first Kawasaki Dealer in OKC was located at about 57th and Shields....Al Levine owned the dealership.....Al was one of the original Levine's of the Levine Department store in Capitol Hill.....TG&Y Contracted with him to sell the Kawasaki Bikes and we did a pretty good job. Then, Kawasaki began to grow and there were about 6 or 7 Dealers in the OKC metro....The name was "Cycle Wolrld"....remember them USG60???
