...and they said it wouldn't last...
~~~
Last year it coincided with the 40th anniversary of Woodstock.
This time we all have a week to recover.
I'll be late.
I contacted the Beacon, to see if they would come on Aug 21, so far no luck. However, if some of you have pictures you would send me I will take them to the Beacon. He will do a write up on us for the paper. If you have any pictures send me a private message and I will take them by there. Tried to send you all a private message but could not
Great idea!!! I'll dig through my pics.... I know I have a couple. (Sorry, my INBOX was full, I've since emptied it.)
because two people I know were in them. I never knew the
paper existed until you told me about it.
I'll bring a camera ... and a Russian switchblade ... and a 1976 Okc semi-centennial medallion ... and maybe some books. If you can't get the Beacon's editor/owner to attend and make a news story ... well ... what's the Beacon coming to?
Okc semi-centennial medallion ... and maybe some books. If you
story ... well ... what's the Beacon coming to?
OOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo... AHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
Doug, shouldn't the semi-centennial coin be from 1957? Did
you get yours from Manny? Did he take it from the trunk of
his '75 Chevy Caprice on 5th and Walker? You paid too much
and they were minted in an alley in Las Vegas. I know. I
owed Manny a favor. Weren't you our lawy... oh, that's how
you got it... never mind...
I have no idea about the Beacon except that it's an old paper
that uses bad grammar and can't spell 50 cent words. In fact
it misspells 25 cent words. It even misspelled Soonergirl26's
name and it's only 3 letters. Good grief!
Wait! It has two editions that contains photos of two of my
favorite people in the whole wide world! Other than that...
you can have it...
Gen64, it's not your photo. You don't look good in a dress.
Not even that periwinkle one you wore to... the shoes and
handbag matched, though...
Let's see... LP... LP... OH, LP! Got it! Natural gas, right? That's
78 psi. I have no idea what this has to do with nostalgia. Oh,
I forgot. You're really, really, really, really, really, really, really,
really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really old.
What was it like before dirt?
We understand Old Timers disease. If only it was something
besides natural gas. OHHHHHHHHHH! That natural gas.
puh-LEEEZ don't bring it to Coits. Some of us will be eating.
Remember, I've ridden in the truck with you and was happy to
keep the window open when it was over 100 outside! I was
very happy! Because I was breathing!
And Gens64 you had better be there.... haven't seen you in way too long!!! :)
Prunette said I can bring some of our fresh canned bread & butter
I would just like to buy their archives!! Sure wish they had their old newspapers online.... that would be great. Mr. Beacon (aka David Sellers) told me that they are on microfiche somewhere.... I forgot where he said though. Public Library? Historical Society?
~~~~
Okay, I have a great explanation for that... Give me a week or
so and I'll tell you all about it, providing that's enough time.

Well, one thing is that you dames smell a whole lot better.
Maybe another reason is that it's more fun to 'bump' into you
soft and cushy women folk than guys. You're purtier, too, and
make a lot more sense, you're smarter, more fun, talk in complete
sentences, don't grunt and certainly DON'T excrete noxious body
odors or weird and unexplainable sounds. There might be one
or two other reasons but you won't understand. After all
you're just a woman.

I'll try to come down to you woman folks level. We really do
like being around you. At least I do. In fact, if the men never
ever showed up...

Okay Prunette, whatever you say! You want me to write WHAT?
Yes ma'am, Soonergirl26 and that little June girl are awesome and
gorgeous, OUCH, mediocre and cute... OWWW, don't get me started
on my incredibly lovely Tall Girl friend, SLAP SLAP SLAP SLAP I mean
my somewhat almost close friend... Dang I'm losing this...

She told me she was flat broke.

I'm sooooooo despondent. Call me a loser. I thought
Soonergirl26 was my friend... I'm going to go to bed

All right you guys...get your laughing box out and get it over.....Last Saturday my son asked if I would come and "Help" him trim a tree....Sure, I'll just do it for you....Chain Saw in hand I cut the limb and the ladder "Folded" up with me and I went for a 10 foot drop with Chainsaw running in my hand. I did however throw the Saw and took the "Thud"....You know, "Fat man down".....No breath and seemed to have lost my intelligence. Everyone came running, they felt the ground shake...Are you hurt?....Nah, just can't breathe.....My wife says "Get Up", you'll feel better...still have no breath in my body....finally came around and other than a "BUNCH" of bruises and soreness I walked away....."Cowboy Up"........That's real funny PapaOU, Carltonskeeper...Now for the ending of the story....Monday I was cleaning up around the house "Hobbling" through out and decided to straighten an Elk head mount in the living room.....(wife said to stay away from ladders)....Climbed to the top (stupid) and you're right, the head fell and took me to the ground (12 feet this time) and I went for the count. Finally came to ....could NOT move..scared me quite a bit......but finally, I could move my right hand and I got my cell phone out and called 911....Told the operator I had fallen and couldn't get up...she began to laugh and then I started to laugh and Cry at the same time.....Then I responded to I've dropped my beer and can't get up...she asked if I was for real...and I said yes....You can't imagine the feeling of 7 or 8 firemen trying to help you (Thanks Moore fire dept.)...finally the ambulance and I gues the rest of the Circus showed up later....any way once again "Fat man down".....Hospital...Trauma Center...pretty nurses,,,scissors....Whoa...what are those for?...they cut my clothes off...Socks, shirt Levi's and other articles of clothing...Glad they were clean.....Finally began to get feeling back in my body.....big bruises Everywhere....Very sore kidney and Ribs..Broken thumb but....thought I had been in a Grant Capitol Hill fight and I was the only one there.....Necks Braces suck.....and they even embarass me to myself....
