I'm gigging with BLT at Mickey Mantle's on the 26th & 27th. 7pm to 11pm.
It's a really, really good R&B band. I'm subbing on electric bass and will be
the short guy.

Park at the ugly garage, left field, for $5 or find a place on E. Sheridan or
E. Main. Sometimes you can park free at Harkin's. Bass Pro is good, too if
you don't mind walking a couple of blocks.

A reminder that I'm at Mickey Mantle's this week end with BLT at Mickey
Mantle's on the 26th & 27th. 7pm to 11pm.

This is officially a southside establishment since it's south of Main Street!
Wait! South East! ACK! LOL!

I never had a madras shirt. I did have wheat jeans, though. The last pair I ever bought came from Arlan's (Arlen's?) at 44th and South Western. Remember that? Did I tell this story before? For about 1/2 hour I and some friends were "union thugs". We were on our way into Arlen's (Arlan's?) and there was a union organizer in the parking lot. We were pretty muscular guys, all wearing tank tops and jeans, and I guess we caught his eye. He asked "how would you guys like to earn some easy money?" We said "sure, what do you want us to do?" He said "just stand over there in a group and look mean". So we did while he passed out little cards and pointed over to us. Later, he gave us each $10 and I asked him what he was doing. He said "we're getting ready for a union election to try and become the union for the employees of Arlan's (oh I give up) and I told those people that if they didn't sign this card, choosing our union to represent them, they'd have to deal with you". I guess we didn't look mean enough, because the union didn't get into Arlen's (!).

Anyway, I took my $10 and bought a brand-new pair of wheat jeans. I almost forgot that was the point of the story...

O.K. Long story:.....years ago, I dreamed of being a veterinarian and so, I went back to College to follow the dream. I was working with a Vet in Central Texas when part of the training came to Pregnancy test a cow it was my turn to check the cow.....Yep your right.....Arm up the Rear end.... the cow decided to Lay down with MY arm caught inside.....in a panic I asked the Vet what to do....His response:..."just lay down as she lays down and your arm will be released when she relaxes......She did and she also relieved herself in my face.....(Nasty);....I told my wife the story and she looked at me in disbelief and asked:...."what did it taste like?".......My answer?..."S$%#!!!!:.."Here's Your sign..True Story ....horrible taste.....Now back to Coit's Meeting....

The band was really cookin'. The girl in the red dress was drunk. Was
something missing from her dress?

Harold, the drummer, has been giving me Smoky Robinson lessons.

That was not a dress. It was a piece of material stretched from one shoulder to her hips, and it kept riding up from there. I wonder where her pole was. And she was 60 if she was a day. I think the Gen64 dated her in 1960 or '61.

Harold is such a gentleman and he does sound like Smokie Robinson. You can too, just keep practicing. All of those guys were great. I wouldn't have missed it. And all of the extra goings on kept me on the edge of my barstool.

It's just a real interesting time together... very casual. If you haven't already done so take a look at the main thread for this group.... lots of stuff there.

I remember THINKING of the north side as The Twilight Zone but I don't remember a particular place called that. I remember the Twilight Lounge but it isn't northern.

I only raise the financial status of a group when the group in question is at The Jesus House. And even then it's hit or miss.
