I read the radio info boards today, and I saw on there that 105.3 the Spy is returning, even have a countdown on their website (sorry that I don't have the link), maybe they will return and upgrade that power, with 930 watts of power it don't cover all of the metro.

I so hope this is true. And, hopefully, I won't have to inch up at stoplights to keep the signal...

I hope they will upgrade their power, but that could be a problem with KOOL 105.5 in Chickasha, because I know I can hear them coming in down by crossroads mall, anyways I wouldn't be surprise that the current format on 105.3 (ESPN Deportes) moves to WKY.

I'm totally ignorant of this. What is "The Spy"?

If you are totally ignorant of it, it probably isn't for you prunepicker. But it was and now is again the best local radio station around. It plays underground music I guess you can call it. It doesn't play the top ten crap every other radio station hammers into your head. It also doesn't have radio dj's jamming up the waves with their opinions and advertisement.

Well, unfortunately, you will have to hear some ads soon, or there will again be no more Spy. And yes, as soon as the ad money starts coming in, Ferris will hire some on air talent. Not that it will be a bad thing. I'm sure he will do what he can to find the coolest DJs around for us.

Yep. But I will enjoy it while it lasts and then add it to the stations to flip through once he does all of that. Then I will go back to the ipod and cds eventually after I've had enough.

i just fired XM for horrible customre service and messing up my billing, so this is really good news! Two songs in and my ears are in total bliss...

Well kmf, I do believe that you will continue to enjoy the spy even after they start adding commercials and different talent. From what I have heard, most of the commercials are going to be paid by LOCAL businesses that share the same mentality as the spy. The talent is ultimately going to resemble the old spy from Stillwater, great local artist hours, new music hours and genre specific hours. If you like it now I am sure you will always like it.

They should have a Flaming Lips hour every day.

Exactly. This has what to do with music? I can't stand talking on the radio. I don't care what it is. Or who it is. That's just me, not saying it's bad...I just don't want it.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but that is how commercial radio works. The only way to have commercial-free radio over the airwaves is for people to pay for it out of their own pocket. Even then, they would still have to come on and remind you about your monthly pledge.

I know that's how it works. That's why I don't listen. When I am in the mood to flip, I will hit the button for the Spy first though.

No thanks! I can't walk half a mile without running across 30 cats on the Lips literal bandwagon. Don't get me wrong--I dig the Lips but let's keep it that way. Oversaturation started when the yuppies and business world saw that "Do You Realize" was relentlessly powering uphill on its own accord, figuring they'd help it along anyway.

BUT I am so, so glad that The Spy is back! It's been great listening to what Ferris has to play. So much great music that would not find its way to the airwaves otherwise.
