I only fly a few times a year, but I don't think it was free at OKC last time I was there:

Google Press Release (http://www.google.com/intl/en/press/pressrel/20091110_free_airport_wifi_holiday.html)

Free WiFi - A 2009-2010 Holiday Gift from Google (http://www.freeholidaywifi.com/)

It lasts through Jan 15.

I fly frequently out of Will Rogers and internet is in essence not free. You can log on and review airline data and there is also a link that will allow you to use the internet free for up to 20 minutes, long enough to catch a few emails and update the facebook. Shhh.... although if you are computer saavy you can stay on a lot longer.... DFW doesn't have the 20 minutes free availability.

I think that airlines should provide a free login whenever there is a delay.

Are you kidding? The reason that airlines have delays is so you are forced to pay $5 for a soda and $12 for a hamburger. That keeps the airports in business.

I always wonder how some of those airport stores stay open. Who goes to an airport to shop for fragrances?

People who leave stuff at home do! Not everyone has means of transportation once they arrive at their destination.

I've also been guilty of not getting a gift for someone I was being picked up by...yay for shops at the airport saving my ass!

Do you think airlines like to be delayed? They are in no way in business with the airport stores. A delayed flight affects their entire system for up to 24 hours sometimes - rare cases even longer. It affects every flight that plane will fly that day, and any flights that use the delayed gates. The airlines do not like delays as it hurts their image, puts undue stress on their employees to sort the resulting mess, and it costs them money and raises their overhead.

Airlines want nothing to do with delays, but due to the complexity of the game, there are so many variables involved with a flight pushing out on time, where if one in the chain breaks, the flight may be delayed. You would be surprised how many people and how much coordination it takes to just move one flight.

SkyWest is right. Each aircraft makes many runs every day and any delay affects that plane's runs all day long. The airlines are not at all connected to airport concessions.

SkyWestOKC, I see you recently joined. Looking at your screen name, I am curious if you work for the regional carrier of the same name?

I am a free-lance photographer. :) They are my favorite Part 121 though. Right now I would be considered an aviation enthusiast.
