Are you ready for Thunder Opening Night?

THUNDER: Thunder Video Player (http://www.nba.com/thunder/video/2009/10/02/ford_center_package.thunder)

We have got to raise the roof off the Ford Center this Wednesday.

Let's make Loud City the most tragic and hospitable arena for visiting NBA teams & their fans!

dmoor82:

I've got tickets for the Clippers game and I am looking forward to seeing Blake Griffin.

I was two grades behind Tommy Griffin who was on the same swim team at Douglass High School with my older brother.

Anybody else think the atmosphere was weak last night, especially for a home opener? Wayyyy too many empty seats, and that concerns me.

I agree that the atmosphere was a little weak compared to our first year as the Thunder in the NBA despite our bad start. Metro, there were empty seats; however, I was pleased with opening night!

We can contribute much of this to last year's record and the fact that we were playing the Sacramento Kings. I would estimate the actual seats filled to be right at 16,000-17,000; however, a sellout is a sellout (18,203 paid).

We drew 15,400 & 16,000 for preseason and I hope they give Tulsa and Wichita (new arena) all the preseason games. Nick Collison could be honored in Lawrence, KS, and I'm sure he would get a much better receiption than Durant received in Austin. Preseason game consideration could also be give to Kansas City and St. Louis.

I'm still a believer that two-five regular season games could be played at the BOK Center in Tulsa.

As this team becomes competitive with the upper tier of teams (East: Boston, Orlando, Cleveland; West: LA Lakers, Dallas, San Antonio, Denver...) only then will you see this arena filled and the excitement that OKC can truely exhibit.

I enjoyed the game, but was real disappointed with the fans mass exodus with 6 minutes remaining to the buzzer. I just hope they were wanting to get home to watch the world series game. Some games will be close enough that the team will need a full arena at the end.

Like you VintageRacer, I was surprised at the mass exodus. I've seen past games where there we more fans there watching us take a beating. Especially, the night they booed the team in 2008.
