Could someone tell me the name of the bldg. next to the former Black Hotel?

The building immediately north of the former hotel, known today as One North Hudson, is an old parking garage, built around the same era as the hotel.

The building immediately north of the former hotel, known today as One North Hudson, is an old parking garage, built around the same era as the hotel.

Now owned by Pre-Cor and provides monthly parking only for $108 per month.
It's where I park now and would be great but for the fact that the two block east distance to the office has turned into a 4 1/2 block trek or more, depending on which street corner is torn up.

it it just me or does it look like they are adding more than just 3 floors?

MadMonk

I was under the impression that they were adding five levels.

You are correct, as far as I've heard.

Parking garage.

For some reason I was thinking it was only 3. Must be 5.

Traffic flow to get out of the garage will be interesting. I wouldn't want to be on the top floor and have to wait for 2,000 other people to get out in front of you.

Solution. Set each level for specific time people have to clock out.

For some reason I was thinking it was only 3. Must be 5.

Yeah it's 5 because they are doubling the number of floors from 5 to 10.

ronronnie1

Assuming most people "clock out" at 5pm, I think we'll need a new "solution."

I'm sure there will be an exit on Harvey as well as Hudson. Other than that, I don't know what the plan is.

MadMonk, 3 things, in getting caught up with these 2 threads ...

1 - is your 11/13 flash file your latest? Just finished watching it ... great, as always
2 - the one just mentioned is 1:34 long. How many different frames does that represent?
3 - when do you think you'll have another!

I don't know if the camera angle catches it, but a night-time time lapse of Myriad Gardens with all the Christmas lights going would be very cool.

MadMonk, would love to see a timelapse of today - they are doing a lot of moving on the garage - have put in at least 4 floor pieces already today.

Hey Doug, I'm glad you like my amature videography.

1. Yes, that was the latest one. I've been very busy since then. I was thinking I would wait until the garage construction was completed before attempting another one.

2. That was from 1:00pm to midnight and I used every frame (one/minute) and timed them at something like .13 seconds per frame. Roughly 660 frames. For that small of a time frame, it was okay to use every frame, but when I try a longer one I'll probably have to change that - maybe every fifth or so. I'm not sure though. I'll just have to experiment with it.

3. See answer #1, but I'll try to throw something together soon. :tiphat:

OK I just threw together the captures from today. Nothing fancy - not even sound - but it shows them putting the pieces together. Once the garage is is done (or close to it) I'm going to do a nice one from the beginning.

Fantastic!!! Is great to see Oklahoma's strong economy and vision at work, keeping our local citizens, contractors and construction companys busy. I would hope that the suppliers are Oklahoma based to keep our people working, increase our tax revenue and many other benifits.

Can you tell me where the concrete pieces being erected? Are they made onsite, or, if not, where are they manufactured?

Proud to be an OKIE!!!

Maybe its a Dumb Question but what are the chances of turning the camera and watching the garage construction since its really the only visible change?? It would be nice to see the whole garage go up.

Are they doing both garages??? If so The camera will not be able to see much lower level tower work.

Thanks

Pretty cool to watch and peek at daily to see some progress.

Wow, they must be on a crazy-fast timetable. I have worked on many large construction projects and many times the work schedule is 24-7. Once they begin to work on the "guts" of the bldg. I'am sure it will be the same on Devon.

We had dinner at La Baguette the other night, and my first thought as we approached the restaurant was "What on earth is that noise"? They were hard at work on the tower at 8:30 p.m. and now I understand why Devon bought the Colcord. I can't imagine trying to sleep with that noise.

I don't know if any of you have heard the rumors, but I was told that Devon has found out about this thread and are in the process of trying to get this camera removed.

It’s NOT confirmed, but I heard they already had talks with the Oklahoman to have their own feed through NEWSOK.com

Anyone else heard this rummor?

I believe the Oklahoman may add a real-time camera as well but I haven't heard from anyone about removing the one we have.

I can't imagine 1) why they would mind and 2) how they could do more than politely request, knowing they have no way of forcing the issue.

Okay, I've made a few videos of the garage construction. I first attempted to capture construction from the 1st through the 14th. I didn't want to skip too many frames because so much was happening minute-by-minute. However, that was way too much for my computer to handle and would take too long to view anyway. It was over 11,000 frames!

So, I've decided to break the captures in to daily vignettes that can be made easily and viewed quickly. In the interest of time and convenience, I've also left out music for these. I've only made it through the 5th, but I'll keep posting them as I get them completed.

Things start off slowly, but really start to pick up on the 5th. Most nights, the crews work until nearly midnight and sometimes well past.

the progress of the garage go me to thinking, so I'll ask the question.

with the completion of the garage, does Devon plan to have their employees start parking in it and walking to their current locations?

Besides the obvious advantage of freeing up other downtown parking locations, I think having Devon employees park in their own garage (despite the tower being ready to move in/built) is it will allow Devon employees to interface with the construction of their new tower; they would get daily hands-on accounts of their new baby!

Anyone have any insight or information?

I think there may be some safety issues. (Being in such close proximity)
