I watched the "fearless freaks" doc on Hulu last week and thought the same thing.
There isn't anyone else in the state that can destroy the negative stereotypes like Wayne can. As one of the most innovative song writers in the history of music, he certainly goes out of his way to talk about the charm of Oklahoma and embody it without reservation. He talks about it the way I talked about it when I was in DC, or Atlanta, or Seattle, or Minneapolis.
Proud to have him represent my home town on a daily basis. It's fun to grab a drink in the Blue Note and tell someone from out of town, "this is where the flaming lips had their first show".

Never met him, but it would be interesting to do so some day.

They will be on the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien tonight (Tues). You'll be able to find their performance on Hulu tommorow.

Well, that was...different. I'm not familiar with the song so fans will have to forgive me for asking, but was the stage audio really bad or is it supposed to sound that way? It was very distorted.

Hoping the former is the more accurate of the two
